I remember playing it on a PS1 demo disc back in the 90s and later found out it's basically the precursor to the Soul Reaver games. The combat system is pretty identical and the story themes too. It has a very 90s nostalgic feel to it in terms of game design.

I also had Akuji the Heartless growing up. I never finished it but always remembered the game to a degree. This also had a demo of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1. Which I currently own the original PC version on GOG. I didn't know until years later. This was strikingly similar to another game called Shadow Man. Two versions of that game also on GOG as well. You play as a dead man that's going through the supernatural on his journey. I always remembered the look of Akuji. This was a strangely interesting game for it's time. Surprisingly there's people still talking about this game. It's one of those games people missed out on. Then years later, they hear about it a lot. This was a game Crystal Dynamics made that's simply ahead of it's time. By now there exists plenty games with similar concepts to this. Now that's exactly why Akuji the Heartless should be on GOG.
Those games also need your vote!

Resident Evil: Revelations 2
Resident Evil: Revelations 2Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is the retail version of the episodic survival horror series that was originally released as four downloadable episodes. This physical version combines the entire story along with some extras, but not all the available DLC. The PC version did not receive a retail release, but the same content was bundled on Steam. The game comprises four episodes, each of which feature two separate stories. This sequel bears a stronger tone to the concept of survival horror than titles such as Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. Elements of ammunition management as well as stealth or sneaking come into play in the gameplay.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of ApocolypseX-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocolypse
X-Men Legends II: Rise of ApocolypseX-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is an action role-playing game developed primarily by Raven Software and published by Activision. It is the follow up to 2004's X-Men Legends. It was first released in September 2005 for the GameCube, Microsoft Windows, N-Gage, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Xbox video game platforms. It is set after the events of X-Men Legends and features the mutant supervillain Apocalypse as the primary antagonist. The developers intended the game to have a greater sense of scale than its predecessor, and writers created a story where the villains known as the Brotherhood of Mutants would need to ally themselves with the heroic X-Men to defeat a greater threat. High quality cinematics were created by Blur Studio. Online multiplayer was also added. The game was well received by gaming critics on all platforms. Critics felt that the inclusion of online play, additional mutant powers, and a larger cast made the game an improvement over its predecessor. Some reviewers were critical of the game's voice acting and felt that the gameplay was repetitive. It sold enough copies to be added to the budget line known as PlayStation 2's Greatest Hits.
