Armored core 1 was fun. the combat was not too hard but had challenge to improve. the default controls were not the best but after reconfigured it works well. Story was simple but interesting.
Only playing this for the first time the Summer before 6 released I didn't realize how I much I would fall in love with this franchise. I was only 3 when this game came out and despite the horrendous controls, I still love it, and every new player needs to experience. Lastly, the last mission makes this game a platformer actually.
The one that started it all... Before Fromsoftware known for its dark fantasy game. Like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Demon's Souls & Bloodborne, Fromsoftware excel & known for making mecha games and also one of foundation of Fromsoftware, is Armored Core. Armored Core released in 1997 is by far the best mecha games for its customization at that time. You can customize your Armored Core/AC's (Main mecha/Your "character" on the series) head, body/core, arms. legs, weapons, equipment & also the internal parts like FCS/Targeting System, Generator & booster. You can also color individual body parts and also make your personal emblem. And that emblem also gonna appears on your AC's arms & some of weapons. Its definitely pretty awesome technology on PS1 that time. The storyline & missions are also great for its time. Jump into dystopian mechanized corporation warfare theme with variety of mission. Like destroy enemies, defending, sabotage, recover lost technology, assasination, explore unknown area, & even some betrayal, twists & turns. That's why Armored Core should be preserved, currently it still locked on Playstation hardware. But more people should play & experience Armored Core this legendary series from Fromsoftware.
Being a Gundam and Mechwarrior fan, this game was peak mech actions. I played this after playing Mechwarrior 2 for the playstation 1, and I played the hell out of this game. The missions, the parts, the style, the music, everything about this game still holds up today. If you want even greater difficulty, don't do human plus, just play the game as best you can lol. The real ones know.

Big nostalgia for Armored Core. I remember plating one of the Playstation demo disc's that had Armored Core and Parappa the Rapper. It only has 2 or 3 missions, and very limited parts for your AC but I remember using them all and playing the missions over and over, eventually buying the game and then every single US release after that. I cried when I saw the announcement for Armored Core 6 as I thought they gave up on it, literally cried. It really was the highlight of that year, I remember too well because my father passed away earlier that year. I never imagined these could even have a slim possibility of ever making it to GOG or PC without emulation, and since I'm here I'm up voting the best armored core games. Sorry, ACV! Lol

This game doesn't hold up amazingly today, especially control-wise, but its still an enjoyable title. It took me a bit to adjust to the controls, but playing through the game was still fun. Nineball is a truly menacing opponent, and the Karasawa is op. I need this on PC.

Classic Fromsoft original that is stuck on PS1, with the recent success of their latest Armored Core game, I imagine many would love to see the origins of the series. I know I spent countless hours playing it.
I didn’t grew with the PS1 and wasn’t too experienced with those game until a few years ago when I learned to use emulators just to play the original armored core as I saw it in a YouTube video and thought it was really cool, since then I tried a lot more games of that era, including the classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, which I gave the chance after Armored Core, so it is important to me because outside of it being a really fun game, I was what made me interested in playing more classic PSX games and looking into more obscure stuff
I remember playing this game as 14-year-old a long time ago, wanting to have an experience as a mech pilot. I loved it then. I revisited it about 2 years ago. Not only was it as much fun as I remembered, but the idea of being able to carry over your AC (mech) with all its enhancements and parts to the next game in the series makes it such a fun experience, and one where you really have a sense of ownership over your adventure. I love all three of the games in the first armored core series, but with other consoles not having that feature, to carry over your armored cores, it really dampens the experience. I would love to be able to buy these on GOG, with the functionality that is missing from the current restored versions. Being able to simply play them, and own them again would be a wonderful thing, especially since it's so expensive to buy a physical copy.
Those games also need your vote!

Crimson Skies
Crimson SkiesThe series is set within an alternate history of the 1930s invented by Weisman and McCoy. Within this divergent timeline, the United States has collapsed, and air travel has become the most popular mode of transportation in North America; as a result, air pirates thrive in the world of Crimson Skies. In describing the concept of Crimson Skies, Jordan Weisman stated he wanted to "take the idea of 16th century Caribbean piracy and translate into a 1930s American setting."

Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Resident Evil Code: VeronicaResident Evil Code: Veronica is the fourth video game in Capcom's Resident Evil survival horror series. The game continues the survival horror gameplay of its predecessors: the protagonist explores the surroundings, fighting monsters and solving puzzles. However, it is the first game in the series to do away with pre-rendered backgrounds using a fully polygonal 3D engine instead, which allows for features such as real-time lighting and camera movement. Still, such movements are only used sparingly, and the use of perspective is mostly unchanged from earlier installments: the camera automatically switches to different static angles showing protagonists, monsters and rooms from different spooky viewpoints.
