Armored core 1 was fun. the combat was not too hard but had challenge to improve. the default controls were not the best but after reconfigured it works well. Story was simple but interesting.
Only playing this for the first time the Summer before 6 released I didn't realize how I much I would fall in love with this franchise. I was only 3 when this game came out and despite the horrendous controls, I still love it, and every new player needs to experience. Lastly, the last mission makes this game a platformer actually.
The one that started it all... Before Fromsoftware known for its dark fantasy game. Like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Demon's Souls & Bloodborne, Fromsoftware excel & known for making mecha games and also one of foundation of Fromsoftware, is Armored Core. Armored Core released in 1997 is by far the best mecha games for its customization at that time. You can customize your Armored Core/AC's (Main mecha/Your "character" on the series) head, body/core, arms. legs, weapons, equipment & also the internal parts like FCS/Targeting System, Generator & booster. You can also color individual body parts and also make your personal emblem. And that emblem also gonna appears on your AC's arms & some of weapons. Its definitely pretty awesome technology on PS1 that time. The storyline & missions are also great for its time. Jump into dystopian mechanized corporation warfare theme with variety of mission. Like destroy enemies, defending, sabotage, recover lost technology, assasination, explore unknown area, & even some betrayal, twists & turns. That's why Armored Core should be preserved, currently it still locked on Playstation hardware. But more people should play & experience Armored Core this legendary series from Fromsoftware.
Being a Gundam and Mechwarrior fan, this game was peak mech actions. I played this after playing Mechwarrior 2 for the playstation 1, and I played the hell out of this game. The missions, the parts, the style, the music, everything about this game still holds up today. If you want even greater difficulty, don't do human plus, just play the game as best you can lol. The real ones know.

This game doesn't hold up amazingly today, especially control-wise, but its still an enjoyable title. It took me a bit to adjust to the controls, but playing through the game was still fun. Nineball is a truly menacing opponent, and the Karasawa is op. I need this on PC.

Big nostalgia for Armored Core. I remember plating one of the Playstation demo disc's that had Armored Core and Parappa the Rapper. It only has 2 or 3 missions, and very limited parts for your AC but I remember using them all and playing the missions over and over, eventually buying the game and then every single US release after that. I cried when I saw the announcement for Armored Core 6 as I thought they gave up on it, literally cried. It really was the highlight of that year, I remember too well because my father passed away earlier that year. I never imagined these could even have a slim possibility of ever making it to GOG or PC without emulation, and since I'm here I'm up voting the best armored core games. Sorry, ACV! Lol

Classic Fromsoft original that is stuck on PS1, with the recent success of their latest Armored Core game, I imagine many would love to see the origins of the series. I know I spent countless hours playing it.
I didn’t grew with the PS1 and wasn’t too experienced with those game until a few years ago when I learned to use emulators just to play the original armored core as I saw it in a YouTube video and thought it was really cool, since then I tried a lot more games of that era, including the classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill games, which I gave the chance after Armored Core, so it is important to me because outside of it being a really fun game, I was what made me interested in playing more classic PSX games and looking into more obscure stuff
Those games also need your vote!

Merchants of Kaidan
Merchants of KaidanMerchants of Kaidan is a challenging trading game fused with lots of RPG elements. You start very humble, one cart, a purse of gold and silver coins is all that you have. Your task is to roam the world and search of opportunities to score some profit. Buy low, sell high - a merchant's motto is easy to grasp. And yet the job is harder than it seems. A good merchant needs to know everything about the market, he is always on the lookout for a deal, always listening, always engaging and deepening his knowledge. He knows what forces influence the prices, what events affect them. A good merchant listens to rumours and gossips spread by travelers at inns and taverns; hoping for a clue, a hint where to go, where a good deal awaits. A good merchant surrounds himself with specialists smarter than him, people who help him maximize profits and minimize losses. He always expands his fleet of carts, he balances risks, calculates profitability. The conditions are constantly changing, and supply and demand for different goods with them. Maybe you'd like to pay a cheaper price for furs in the summer, and sell them for a hefty profit as the winter is coming and people need warmth. But is it worth carrying them for so many days, risking robbery, moths and taking precious space that you could use to transport something now and make a profit immediately? Or is it worth to buy illegal herb in the out of reach swamps where it cost's next to nothing, and risk smuggling it into the city where you can sell it for an amazing profit? But what if the city guards want to control you? Should you pay a bribe? How big? Maybe the best course of action is to say that you have nothing and hope they don't find anything? These are the types of questions you will have to ask yourself constantly. Merchants of Kaidan has 4 story lines each with many quests. Main quest that brings you closer to avenging your father's murder, and 3 side-quest lines. A total of over 100 quests each composed of multiple steps.

Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of Faith
Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of FaithMountain of Faith features two playable characters, each with three weapon types, but no personalized spell card bombs. Collecting power items results in an increase in "option" satellites around the character (for a total of four), which behave differently according to the character and weapon type. Each characters' options also fire bullets, and either shift position or freeze in place in focus-fire mode. The scoring system is based on the Faith meter, which has a refillable gauge and a numeric value (minimum 50,000). As long as the gauge is not empty, the player's Faith value doesn't decrease, but the gauge slowly depletes unless the player is defeating enemies or collecting point items. Point items also partially refill the gauge, and Faith items increase the Faith value. The Faith value directly affects the point value of point items and spell card bonuses.
