This was a really ambitious and faithful adaptation of the AD&D: Birthright, resulting in a fantastic combination of Grand Strategy featuring ruling a kingdom and fighting mass battles and CRPG part that was made in the doom engine. I am not kidding, the part where you take party to some dungeon crawl was made in doom engine. Also, the game featured a lot of guitar riffs. Sadly, the studio behind had ambitions of adding other part of the setting and even naval battle, but wasn't able. Oh, GoG if you manage to bring this back, they did a patch which added the ability to create characters.

I really love this game a great mix of RTS and RPG. A great storyline very Tolkienesque in its narrative. what you did in the RPG part also had effects in the RTS part was great.

One of my favorite games of all time! Deeply flawed and won't run properly without a patch floating somewhere on the internet, but such a great concept! Turn based strategy and roleplaying game in one package, with a great atmosphere as a bonus. It only runs on my old PC, with Dosbox. If Gog could iron out the glitches and slightly tweak the balance, this could be the best game of all time! Well, for me at least :)

Never played this game. But after doing plenty of research, this is something to preserve. As technology has gotten greater and better, Ambition has started to fade from game development. And my lord, the devs of this game reached for the stars. While not perfect, this is one of those rough diamonds I just WANT and NEED to try... Yet impossible to find these days; so GOG, get to it!

I own the game. I found it a desirable game to play. Never could finish it either I lacked the skills to get the computer set correctly or just didn't have a computer worthy of it being installed on. Did play it many times as you never got the exact same play.

This is a really fantastic game. I lost the cd years ago and on modern pc it doesn´t work :( A mix of crusader kings and a dungeon crawler, it was one of these ambitious projects that sadly didn`t get much love from consumers. I would love to see this preserved on gog!

To this day, I don't think there is a game that mixes turn-based grand strategy, tactical combat and party-based RPG exploration quite like this one. A remake or sequel would be wonderful, but at least making it available for people to buy would be a great step in the right direction.

One of the first game i ever played, as a kid coming from first readings of hobbit and LOTR, this game was lit. I played demo to the very limits, 10 years later i got the full game . The game was ahead of its time, trying to blend everything. I think mooding comunity could fix a lot of errors with adventure part of a game, that part was ...not good but also because it had a lot of potential, it feels rushed. But still i loved a game. It was amazing experiance.

It's a great and very unique aproach on a Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting. Birthright is one of the most unknown and underrated campaign settings in the entire history of D&D. In a single game, you can experience kingdom management, quests, leading an adventuring party through exciting dungeon raids, commanding armies in battles, and even controlling a character with godlike powers. I played and replayed the game back since 1998. From my experience, the game is very fun but also challenging, depending on the choices we make. I want to play it again on GOG because since then, I have played many similar games, but none have combined all the elements that this one does. And most importantly, no other game, DLC, or mod has ever returned to the Birthright campaign setting (as far as I know).
Those games also need your vote!

Resident Evil Gaiden
Resident Evil GaidenResident Evil Gaiden is a Resident Evil game for the Game Boy Color. It is non-canon, as its plot is contradicted by the main series in key parts and its events are ignored. The game features three playable characters and consists of exploring areas, collecting items and combating enemies in the process. Unlike previous entries in the series, Resident Evil Gaiden assumes a top-down perspective for the environment portions that, upon approaching an enemy, changes to a first-person combat mode with a reticle constantly moving to the left and right. To attack, the player has to press the action button while the reticle is in range of the enemy.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Resident Evil Code: VeronicaResident Evil Code: Veronica is the fourth video game in Capcom's Resident Evil survival horror series. The game continues the survival horror gameplay of its predecessors: the protagonist explores the surroundings, fighting monsters and solving puzzles. However, it is the first game in the series to do away with pre-rendered backgrounds using a fully polygonal 3D engine instead, which allows for features such as real-time lighting and camera movement. Still, such movements are only used sparingly, and the use of perspective is mostly unchanged from earlier installments: the camera automatically switches to different static angles showing protagonists, monsters and rooms from different spooky viewpoints.

Terminus
TerminusTerminus is a space-flight role-playing/action computer game by Vicarious Visions. It was released in 2000 for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Apple Macintosh. Terminus won awards in the 1999 Independent Games Festival for "Technical Excellence" and "Innovation in Audio". Terminus is outstanding in its implementation of Newtonian laws of motion, which means that objects are subject to inertia. Once accelerated, they float indefinitely into one direction, unless again accelerated into a different direction. This makes steering quite complicated, but mirrors actual behaviour in free space. In Story mode, the player chooses one of four careers (United Earth League military, Mars Consortium militia, Marauder Pirate Clan, mercenary) and follows Terminus's single-player storyline, set in the year 2197. In 2000, Terminus was unusual among RPGs in that the player's actions can affect the ending of the storyline. Failing a mission, for example, may lead to a different ending than would have occurred if the mission had succeeded. One unique feature of Terminus is the story would progress with or without the player. The player could begin the game in story mode, then go off and do something else and the story missions/battles would still take place, reaching an outcome depending on which side eventually wins.

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence
Resident Evil: Deadly SilenceResident Evil: Deadly Silence is an enhanced version of the original Resident Evil for the Nintendo DS port. It was made to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the series. Toshiaki Mori provided promotional artwork during the release of the game, including cover art. Deadly Silence includes a "Classic Mode", the original game with minimal enhancements and touch-screen support, and a "Rebirth Mode", containing a greater number of enemies and a series of new puzzles that make use of the platform's specifications. The game makes use of the dual screen display with the top screen used to display the map, along with the player's remaining ammunition and health (determined by the color of the background); while the bottom screen displays the main action, and can be switched to show the player's inventory. The DS version also includes updated play mechanics: the 180-degree turn introduced in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, along with the knife button and tactical reload from Resident Evil 4. The updated controls are applicable to both Classic and Rebirth modes. Dialog and loading screens can now be skipped. The live-action footage was still censored, even in the game's Japanese release; however, the scene showing Kenneth's decapitated head was kept. In "Rebirth", new puzzles are added that use the system's touch-screen. "Knife Battle" sequences, viewed from a first-person perspective, are also added, in which the player must fend off incoming enemies by swinging the knife via the stylus. One particular puzzle requires the player to resuscitate an injured comrade by blowing into the built-in microphone. The player can also shake off enemies by using the touch screen, performing a melee attack. The game also includes wireless LAN support for up to four players with two different multiplayer game modes. The first is a cooperative mode in which each player must help each other solve puzzles and escape the mansion together. The other is a competitive mode in which the objective is to get the highest score out of all the players by destroying the most monsters, with the tougher monsters being worth more points. There are three playable multiplayer stages and nine playable characters.
