Ah, C&C—that legendary real-time strategy game that really helped shape the genre. I remember the first time I played it, and it was a game-changing experience. It was the late '90s, and I was still in the process of discovering what gaming could really be. I had mostly played simpler games before, but C&C opened up a whole new world for me. The graphics were stunning for the time, and the soundtrack? Unforgettable. Those electric guitar riffs and atmospheric tracks made every mission feel intense, like I was truly leading a battle against an evil empire or defending the world from shadowy forces. The atmosphere in each mission was so immersive that it felt like I was right there, commanding my forces in real time. I remember the excitement of choosing between the GDI or the Brotherhood of Nod. GDI felt like the clear choice for the good guys, but there was something about the mysterious and cunning Nod that intrigued me. Once I chose, the real fun began. Building my base, managing resources, and constructing my army—everything had to be carefully planned. I could either secure my base and build up a strong defense, or I could go full throttle with an all-out assault. The thrill of sending out my forces and watching everything unfold was something I hadn’t really experienced before. There was a certain satisfaction in executing a perfect strategy and watching my enemy crumble under the weight of my carefully crafted attacks. But the losses? They stung. Losing a mission and seeing my entire base fall apart was a tough blow, especially when I knew it was a single mistake that led to my defeat. But it was that challenge that kept me coming back for more, tweaking my strategies and learning from my mistakes. Looking back, C&C wasn’t just another game. It was a pivotal moment in my gaming life, where I learned the power of strategy, patience, and determination. It’s one of those games that left an impression I’ll never forget.

Ugh!
Ugh!Ugh! is an arcade/flight game developed by Bones Park Software Artistic and published in 1992 by PlayByte for the Amiga, Commodore 64 and DOS. The game is a clone of Space Taxi. It features a caveman who, in order to appeal to his beloved future mate, controls a stone-age muscle-powered helicopter, picking up passengers and flying them to the desired location for money. The player must venture through 69 levels, and must evade natural obstacles as well as hostile Dinosaurs and "Birds" (actually pterosaurs). Collisions with obstacles, hard landings and touching obstacles with the helicopter's rotor inflict damage to the helicopter. Also, powering the helicopter exhausts the pilot, which may be recovered by picking up fruits knocked off Tree with Stone. Stone may be also dropped on a hostile monster, knocking it out for a short time. Ugh! was later distributed as a shareware mainly from Bulletin Board Systems and magazine cover disks. The Commodore 64 version of the game also features a two player hotseat mode, in which two players compete to finish the level, while the DOS and Amiga versions feature a cooperative simultaneous two player mode. The game keeps tracks of the player's progress using level codes; the codes for single player levels are Christian Death song titles, the two-player codes are song titles by Current 93.
