Conker's Bad Fur Day

Conker's Bad Fur Day (2001)

by Rare, Gradiente, THQ
Genres:Adventure, Platform, Puzzle, Shooter
Themes:Action, Fantasy, Comedy
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer, Split screen
Story:Humorous action-platformer that does away with the tedious item collection found in most games in the genre. Instead, BFD employs a combination of standard jump, run and explore mechanics and context-sensitive gags and actions. For instance, in the beginning of the game, by pressing the B button on the first pad he encounters, Conker drinks some Alka-Seltzer to wipe out his hangover, at which point players can proceed forward. Later on these pads are used to activate a slingshot and throwing knives; to turn Conker into an anvil and drop downward; to shoot automatic, double-handed guns; to activate a The Matrix-inspired slow-motion effect and flip through the air shooting enemies; and much, much more.Show more

I remember just getting my N64 as a kid around the same time this came out and my parents agreed to rent the game for me...I don't think they understood what they were renting because it definitely wasn't meant for me but I still loved it.

This was a unique and standout gaming experience for me. When I was younger it was all about the flower lady. I couldn't believe they put that in a video game. If you know, you know.

I currently own both versions of this Conker game on Xbox. I always preferred the original N64 version. There's some changes in the remake I wasn't crazy about. Especially replacing the multiplayer didn't set well with me. Conker is essentially one huge parody of movies rolled into a rather unexpected 3D platformer. Easily one of the funniest games on a cartridge I ever played!!! This game actually look amazing on the system despite being near the end of it's cycle. There's a good variety you do within the campaign. There isn't any boring moments at all. As for the multiplayer plenty of modes to play. Each being their own experience to differ em enough. The fact this came out on an Nintendo console is mind blowing!!! This also the one game the world never expected to come from this company. Conker's Bad Fur Day is a timeless classic. Sure parts of it's aging might not be well. At the same time, for those that never played this before. You're in for a truly fun time with this. I could see a lot of people having so much fun playing this on GOG. Hell I'll buy this in a heart beat as soon as it comes out here I'm not kidding.

Oh please let this be a proper PC port. I still play this game every now and then. There was nothing better than me and my brother and sister to come home from school and play this for HOURS before doing our homework 😂

Is it unlikely? Yes. Will it be a huge win if it happens! Hell yes! Bring this game back. At this point I dont care if its this one or the poorly recieved Xbox version.
I remember when I was a wee lad, Conker’s Bad Fur Day wasn’t just a game—it was an awakening. Here I was, expecting another cute animal adventure, and instead, I got a foul-mouthed squirrel waking up from a hangover, fighting a mafia of weasels, dodging a deranged pitchfork, and battling a literal opera-singing pile of crap. And let me tell you, as a kid, nothing felt more rebellious than playing a game that was 90% inappropriate jokes and 10% actual platforming. This game wasn’t just different—it was a complete slap in the face to everything I thought video games were supposed to be. Back then, my world was full of Mario, Banjo-Kazooie, and other wholesome platformers where the biggest concern was collecting enough shiny things. But Conker? Conker didn’t give a damn about shiny things—he was out here getting drunk, making shady deals, and somehow surviving one of the most insane stories ever put in a game. The humor was pure gold. I mean, who expects to fight a boss that’s literally a giant singing pile of excrement? Or get thrown into a warzone where teddy bears are blowing each other to pieces like it’s Saving Private Ryan? This game didn’t care about being politically correct, and it certainly didn’t care about traumatizing kids who accidentally got their hands on it (me included). And yet, beneath all the chaos, it had some of the tightest platforming, best writing, and wildest set pieces I’d ever seen in a game. But the real magic of Conker’s Bad Fur Day was how it felt like something I wasn’t supposed to be playing. It was like sneaking into an R-rated movie as a kid—you knew it was wrong, but that just made it even better. It was crude, it was chaotic, and it was brilliant. And even now, after all these years, I still look back on it as one of the most unforgettable, ridiculous, and hilarious gaming

The year was 2002 I was in the mall at an EB games store and they were closing the store down for good before switching it over to GameStop they had a guy at the counter selling all disc games for well under the value of what they are and then you had the guy at the door handing out cartridge games mainly n64 games I seen a lot of people getting some good games like Smash Bros. Mario 64 and Duke Nukem when I was met by the guy at the door he had very few games left that were good and most I had but one stuck out it had a bad ass squirrel looking dude standing next to a bunny on the cover when I got home I popped the game into the trusty 64 and boom I'm walking in to a bar with many characters sitting about amongst them was the devil and death I knew at this moment I struck gold this was the game that got me into video games forever I still own my original copy and n64 and still play it from time to time but cartridge games have a life cycle and I know mines getting close so I don't just want this I need this! Edit: if you still have the game (64) but havent beat the story go to the devil guy go to cheats and type WELDERSBENCH then all chapters are open or WELLYTOP for unlimited lives to run the story without worry or just to have some random fun swear at the devil he reacts lol
This game is one of my top favorite nintendo64 games. I love everything about it. I wasn't expecting it to be the game it is. I love the movie refences. My brother and I used to play this game together all the time. He got it from a mall. We used to throw gaming nights and this game was a top hit! I wish they made more games like this honestly. It was funny, thrilling, scary, and just everything really.
It's true what they say... The grass is always greener. And you don't really know what you have, until it's gone. GONE. Yes, Conker is one of those things indeed. "I think the round's on me. I'm gonna get tanked tonight."

If GOG brought this absolutely insane fever dream of a game back, I’d certainly have a better day than conker. There so many great moments scattered throughout. And who knows. The sequel might finally get made

Tomba!
Tomba!Tomba! is a side-scrolling platformer in which players control Tomba, a wild boy on the search for his grandfather's bangle that was stolen by some evil pigs. Although Tomba is normally restricted to a two-dimensional plane, there are certain points where he can jump or climb onto a new plane. Tomba's main method of attack is to jump on top of enemies to grab them, allowing him to hop around on them before throwing them away. This can also be used to open other objects such as eggs or treasure chests. Tomba is also able to use various projectile weapons such as maces and boomerangs and can swing on branches and poles. The game is based around a mission system, where the main character's (Tomba's) skills are employed to complete various tasks. Completion of a mission gives a certain amount of adventure points (AP) which are required for AP boxes which contain food (which gives you AP and restores 1 space of vitality) or items, and you may for example need 50,000 AP to open one. AP is also used to gain access to special places or information later in the game. Not all missions are necessary to progress in the game, however, they are required to achieve full completion. There are 130 events (missions) in the game, many of them rely on other events to be completed.
