Owned this right out of the box, one of my brothers all time favs! It is one of the best strategy games for it's time; the mech ground combat was intense especially with incoming long range missiles! They compare it to Risk the board game but it has a 4X feel to it but not so hard that you'll pull your hair out like other games in the 4X genre. Definitely a hidden gem and no connoisseur of 4X games should be without it! Did I mention it has MECH COMBAT?!
Still one of the best games ever made in combining turn-based empire building with real-time strategic combat. Fighting could be cheesed at times, but even that required strategy and planning to pull off, or prevent.
I was introduced to this game in elementary school by a friend and played it extensively on my 386 PC whenever I could. The combination of turn-based 4X-style gameplay and real-time topdown mech combat is an excellent combination. I remember many a hard victory during city fighting using the buildings to flank and attack from the rear with light mechs, or sending barrages of LRMs through streets and alleyways, carefully guiding them past buildings and walls. It has a lot of replayablility with different strategies and tactics to use, as well as multiplayer via hotseat.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earthThe players control the heroes or villians from the famous Lord of The Rings movies. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.Top Trending Fantasy Warfare

Each house has its own vice and virtue and the right selection could give the player right start to the game but he could learn as well as, later in the game with time. Once you choose a side, you to win the King’s challenge of producing the most amount of spice. It won’t be as easy as it sounds. For getting the control of the spices, the player has to fight over the other two houses by all means.
Dune 2000 is done with enough of stunt and live-in scenes to pep up the theme and there is a soothing sound score to add to the overall theme. It’s a game based on the Dune series book of Frank Herbert and gives the player a real pleasure of both combat and competition.Action Science fiction
