Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (2002)

by Piranha Games, Fox Interactive, Sierra Entertainment
Genres:Shooter
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player
Story:The game is a first-person shooter that follows the plot of the first Die Hard film. Players take the role of John McClane, and try to stop the terrorist attack on the Nakatomi Plaza. The game's levels are based on the sets from the film. The various action scenes from the film have also been recreated. The game expands on the film's plot, and adds a few missions not found in the film, such as escorting a SWAT team around the building or saving various hostages stranded on various floors of the building.Show more

As a game based on a movie IP goes this is probably one of, if not, the most faithful to ever be produced. From the very first intro cutscene there is no doubt as to where you are, who you are and what you need to do. What immediately jumps out is the attention to detail. Character models, locations, missions etc are all movie authentic. Weapons are even held on the left hand side of the screen because Bruce Willis/John McClane was left handed, a detail that many don't even notice from the actual movie. Even over 20 years later I still remember this game and the fun I had being immersed into the actual movie, not something loosely based on the film or a weird spin-off or prequel story etc. This game, for all it's low budget quirks, actually let you "play the movie".
I'm not voting for this game, only share my memory. Game should be renamed "Die Hard - BUG-atomy Plaza" because of the bugs in the game engine. The voice of John McClane is fair to mediocre compared to the movie. The only thing they did right was Sgt. Al Powell. Too expensive back then for the quality of the game. I would like for GOG to stay away from this game. There's no point in preserve this game. If a 'Die Hard' game needs to be preserved, please make it so for the "Die Hard 3" movie game.
I would like for GOG bring it on soon possible person first-person shooter game. I was play Die Hard Trilogy 1 and Die HardTrilogy2 on the PS1 game's were not very great unlikely and than ps2 released Die Hard: Vendetta is okay. But ... Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza PC is best graphic one great game ever! I hope it should compatibility with SteamDeck/ROG ally PC Handheld

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Alien vs. Predator
Alien vs. PredatorSan Drad, California, has been overrun by the Aliens, and the cybernetically-enhanced Major Dutch Schaefer and Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa have been abandoned by their superiors and are cornered by a swarm of the Alien drones. Before they can be killed, a pair of the Predators appear and destroy the Aliens. The Predators offer an alliance with the two humans in order to stop the Alien infestation. The players take control of up to three of four characters: Dutch, Linn, a Predator hunter, and a Predator warrior, and battle the Aliens through several environments. In the process, the characters discover that the Alien presence on Earth is the result of an experiment headed by a renegade General Bush of the U.S. Colonial Marines in conjunction with the Weyland-Yutani corporation. They destroy the Alien hive by crashing a military ship into San Drad, causing a huge explosion. The Predator warrior then gives his wrist blades to Dutch and Linn in recognition of their skills as warriors, before the Predators depart back into space.
