I'm a fan of the Dragon Quest series, and as many of you know, Dragon Quest X never left Japan. When the offline version was announced, I was hopeful that we would finally get this game in the west, but we were not lucky. I'm still hoping that I'll be able to enjoy this game one day.
ANYONE WHO HAS EVER SEEN THE PROMOTIONALS, LOVED DRAGON QUEST, LOVED THE WORK OF AKIRA TORI TAMA, OR JUST PLAIN WANTED A LOCALIZATION OF THIS GAME: NOW IS THE TIME FOR OUR VOICES TO BE HEARD!!!! Please, vote with me and get it across to our friends at Square Enix that we want Dragon Quest X localized! It's been 13 years since development was announced for localized release to Wii and Wii U consoles in the West in Game Informer, and yet we haven't seen this wonderful game brought over yet!
Dragon Quest X is the natural evolution of its previous entry and unfortunately it has yet to come outside of Japan. While I've accepted the MMO will never reach us, I would be happy to experience the offline version so see the story unfold and without having to work through region locks and language barriers to play.
Perihelion: The ProphecyThe six characters under your control in this visually exotic RPG have been genetically engineered so as to be resistant to a virus which has been spread by an evil being in the futuristic land of Perihelion. The character races include Bionecrons, Symbions and various cross-breeds.
The gameplay is controlled from a set of initial icons, with each character's vital statistics accessible from this screen as well as inventory, combat and travel options. Large distances can be traversed simply by issuing directions and letting the characters follow them. The cities have very detailed buildings, but there is little variety between them.
