Just like with The Ancients' Gates this is such a childhood gem for me. I always loved the Drakan games and I hope they can see more love through GOG one day. Flying around on your dragon while wielding a flaming sword and killing a bunch of skeletons and goblins never gets old, it's just pure fun.

There still isn't really a modern gaming experience like this. Truly open world gameplay - approach the overworld on foot with Rynn hack and slashing and magicing her way through the Wartok menace or on Arokh's back dog fighting other dragons or liquidating any Wartok too stupid to run away from several tonnes of angry lizard. Seemlessly moving between Rynn and Arokh's gameplay as you see fit. Want to run around a cave system? Do it. Want to call Arokh and fly to some little nook in the mountains on a whim? Do it, you might find hidden treasure! Rynn's truly was the best of the original Lara Croft-alikes of the late 90s. Great soundtrack, voice acting, solid graphics (for the time), and even a thriving mod scene give more than enough reason to jump back into Order of the Flame over and over. Thankfully PCXL and other pc gaming magazines of my teenage years brought this game to my attention and I've been shouting about it to anyone who would listen ever since.
I always played this with my sister. Good times. Loved the controls of flying the dragon en shooting enemies. It was a blast (hehehe). The use of colors and atmosphere is better in games than the pursuit of the most realistic graphics.
Drakan: Order of the Flame is an action-adventure game that gives you the opportunity to take flight on a dragon and having him move and fight freely through, for the time, very detailed environments. This alone is a level of awesome, few games have achieved since! This actually was one of my first video games. I remember playing it on my parents' PC together with my little sister, taking turns after each death. For some of the platforming in the early parts of the game, we even shared controls, one controlling the camera and movement, while the other timed jumps and rolls. The movement of Arokh felt wonderful and even though the levels are quite linear for the most part the flying gave me a feeling of freedom that wasn't comparable to anything of it's time. The characters of Rynn and especially Arokh are another strong point of this one, and I can still quote some of the dialogue all these years later. My username clearly reflects that the Game stuck with me and even now I like to think back to one of the more unique action games of all time. I'd say that this is in the Top 3 of most influential games for me and it would be awesome to experience it again on a modern system.

This is my most endearing game i ever played, all the mechanics tho old are still unmatched by current games, seamless transition from ground to flight, big landscapes with lots to uncover and a good dynamic between two main characters

I started playing it but didn't finish it. Then I couldn't play it again because it didn't work with the operating system. I hope I can play it again soon.

This game HAS to be on GoG, it is basically abandonware at this point. It's a hidden gem. I love the atmosphere of this game, the exploration of the huge maps, riding Arokh (the dragon), the large amount of weapons you can find and so on. It is really sad that this game is more obscure nowadays. It's such a solid classic and does not deserve to be forgotten! Let's hope this game will finally be on GoG!
I would love to have the chance to play this one! I played its sequel, The Ancients' Gates, just a few years ago and I was caught by surprise how enjoyable it was! I wish I knew about this series earlier!

I still own the original CD-ROM of this game. Sadly, it doesn't even install properly. I thought about building an old Win 98 PC with all the required hardware, so I could play it again. But I really hope GOG decides this is a classic that needs to be labeled a GOOD OLD GAME
Super fun one of a kind game. I only played it recently actually and I loved the mechanics of having a dragon sidekick and being able to fly, fight, explore in the large levels specifically. Its not a perfectly balanced game but the sheer cool factor of true dragon rider gameplay makes up for any flaws. A very rare gem and more people absolutely have to play it!

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story. The game also features a complex multiplayer mode entitled Metal Gear Online with some original missions based on the stealth aspects of the single-player games.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
