This is an incredible game that marries classic rhythm game concepts with an infectious and engaging soundtrack. Once you learn its ins and outs its a 1 hour game, but it's also a 1 hour concert you put on as you guide your hero and his dog towards cosmic victory. So charming, so joyous, so much shredding. And it's stuck on PS2.

This game is perfection. The rhythm action GOAT. Everything is top tier: the dynamic song difficulty, the fun story, the great soundtrack. Defeating the Sanbone Trio on Master mode is still my greatest gaming achievement to this day.

You would have to pry my PS2 copy of this game out of my cold dead hands. My favorite music game of all time, I played it obsessively as a kid, and again when the PSP version came out. Love it to this day.

Guitar Freaks
Guitar FreaksGuitarFreaks is a music video game series produced by Konami. It is a rhythm game where the player uses a controller to simulate the playing of an electric guitar. The game consists of music predominantly from the rock music, rock and roll and J-pop genres. It is considered one of the most influential video games of all time, for having laid the foundations for popular guitar-based rhythm games, such as the Guitar Hero series. Working Designs attempted to bring Guitar Freaks PlayStation 2 games in the U.S., but patent problems with the guitar controller prevented the project from moving forward. The game is now in its nineteenth version, GuitarFreaks V8, which was released in March 28, 2011. It was speculated to be the final release of GuitarFreaks V. A spin-off series, GuitarFreaks XG was released in Japanese arcades on March 10, 2010,[4] which added two more buttons to the fret bar. A sequel, GuitarFreaks XG2, was released on March 9, 2011. Another sequel, GuitarFreaks XG3, was released on Feb. 23, 2012.

The Idolmaster SP
The Idolmaster SPThe Idolmaster SP is a series of three Japanese raising simulation video games in The Idolmaster game series. They were released on as Perfect Sun, Missing Moon, and Wandering Star for the PlayStation Portable as a port of The Idolmaster. The gameplay in SP features changes from its predecessor, including an additional promise system which puts more of a focus on communication. The games include three game modes: two single-player and one multiplayer mode for up to three players. The story is told from the perspective of a producer in charge of training 10 prospective pop idols on their way to stardom, and each version of SP features different idols. One reason for dividing SP among three versions when developing the games was to allow players to buy the version which features their favorite idols. Rival idols were introduced into SP because the development team felt that rivals are essential for The Idolmaster, which also serve to deepen the bonds between the player and an idol. Including downloadable content, the game features 54 songs the idols perform: 34 songs in original versions and 20 remixes of those songs, which have been released on several music albums. The bundled version was sold by Lawson in Japan.
