A time capsule from 2000. Music, CGI, Graphics, Gameplay, UI and UI Sounds SCREAM 2000. This game is my childhood and it has a very special place in my heart and mind. The gameplay for this game holds up extremely well, especially for a Hot Wheels game. Still probably one of the best Hot Wheels games ever, to this day.

Velocity X feels the the definitive Hot Wheels game. It had the early concept of an Open World and executed it through 5 satisfying large maps before Open Worlds became a major thing in modern games. It had a story and characters you could get behind. Many cars to unlock and powerups to fuse racing and battling into the same game which felt satisfying. While a remaster on all modern platforms would be an insta-buy for me. Just seeing a port of it for modern platforms would be incredible.

This was probably one of my favorite Hot Wheels games when I got it for the PC, not just because of the racing but also the vehicular combat and open world exploration elements that I've yet to see in newer Hot Wheels games.
Its like a more family friendly carmageddon with a hotwheels theme and tricks and more focus on racing I had plenty of fun times with this one. it definitely makes my favorite racing games list.
