i want this game on gog
This game was my childhood, I spent countless hours in Skirmish mode just racing the CPU into making as many end game Gorilla units as possible and then controlling one in first person just as we're wiping out their base so I could have the final satisfying earthquake like hit and win the match.
One of the first important steps into 3D for the RTS genre and so much fun!
I remember when i played this game at a internet cafe/game center, i remember it having these wierd little 4 legged machines where i just went into skirmish matches and tried controlling them in First person which was incredibly novel at the time and one of the early games to attempt such a thing.
Was so happy when i heard Nightdive released the source code for the game, just such a shame the campaign isnt particularly noteworthy given the unit designs and everything
This is the first strategy game I ever played that allowed you to take first-person control of individual units. It added a level of excitement to the game that I have never felt since.
I love the design of this cute death machines. I also brought it as the EURO was introduced. I was so confused, because of the price tag it did not show the currency and had to pay more.
one of the earliest 3d RTS FPS Hybrids I've played as a child. The designs and atmophere alone captivated me and would love to see this come back to be able to experience the true machine warfare
As a kid I lent this game from our local library. When I heard they would stop lending out games I nearly begged them to sell it too me.
They weren't allowed to and the game ended up in the trash somewhere. By that time Machines had already faded into obscurity and I have tried to get my hands on it ever since.
