This game was my introduction to both the MechCommander world and RTS games in general and I loved it when I first played it and loved it years later, and still love it now, but it's just gotten so hard to play. I could probably make it work by setting up some emulation but that's a little deeper than I want to go to replay a game. But I miss being called "skipper" when I'm being told about weapon upgrades and all the full movie videos from the characters are Gold.

You had no bases to build. But, for as long as it fit the tonnage limit, you could load as many 'Mechs as you wanted. I'd usually run with a trio of Sha Yus that would rush at Assaults. After a few shots, i'd have a salvage team flying in with one of my 'Mech Warriors into the recently-emptied Assault 'Mech.

Loved the way this game plays. I have always been a fan of Age of Empires and this franchise takes the Strategy Game in a different direction. I remember hours of “Happy Gaming” unwinding after work Battling, and then building my Mechs with salvage. I Would be absolutely thrilled for this to come to GOG and would Purchase it immediately.

The 3D tactics and the newer graphics make the game different then it's predecessor and the selection of available mechs is better as there is new mechs as well as some classics. I played this solo and the 3D element makes some of the missions easier but also makes them harder. I want to play this along with the other mechcommander and mechwarrior games and getting the games from here would be easier to do so

The first truly 3D management RTS! Crossroads and tracks! An exciting story! You had to pay attention to every little thing during the game. Before starting the mission, it was at least as cool to assemble the team! The 2nd best game in the world! I love it! I remember playing it through at least 10 times! But I can't do anything with the physical disk anymore... :(

If you like mech warrior you'll probably like this, it's more tactical than the FPS games because strategy matters a lot where as in the FPS games you could cover up a weak setup with piloting/gunning skills. Kinda surprised to see this on gog wishlist though cause Microsoft released this game free many years ago unless they took back the offer.

I played this game so much when I was a teen. I would play it a ton more. I was really hoping the battletech games that came out where going to be like this. Sadly I like these games better.
Honestly I played this at my auntie's house, shame I lost the physical copy and nearly forgot about this gem. It came 2nd in-line next to StarCraft Broodwar with 3rd being Supreme Commander.

It looks like there's a resurgence in interest for this now that Win 11 makes the abandonware version almost unplayable. It would be worth a great deal of worthless, useless money to be able to just buy it and play it, rather than try one of the multi-step walkthroughs that, might, still get it to work.

I have been waiting for other games like this (especially in battetech genre).. Sadly there are none. The last one i think was turnbased. :( This game was good customization.
Those games also need your vote!

Earthsiege 2 is set in the Earthsiege universe, which contains its predecessors Earthsiege (1994) and Battledrome (1995), as well as the action game Hunter Hunted (1996), strategy games MissionForce: CyberStorm (1997) and Cyberstorm 2: Corporate Wars (1998), simulation Starsiege (1999), and first-person shooters Starsiege: Tribes (1999), Tribes 2 (2001), Tribes Aerial Assault (2002), Tribes: Vengeance (2004) and Tribes: Ascend (2012). Earthsiege 2 takes place across North America, South America, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the moon. Earthsiege 2 features a more advanced engine than Earthsiege, increasing the game's maximum resolution to 640*480. Additionally, the game features much more detailed terrain than its predecessor. Earthsiege 2 has 3D rolling terrain rather than the flat landscape of Earthsiege. Furthermore, video briefings and debriefings, along with included squadmate voices, add to the atmosphere of the game.

Monster Hunter
Monster HunterMonster Hunter is an online action-hunting game by CAPCOM for the PlayStation 2 released on March 11th, 2004 in Japan, and September 21st, 2004 in North America. The game is a fantasy hunting simulator filled with many deadly monsters. Like actual hunting, successfully killing or capturing the monsters requires significant strategy, skill and involved resource management. While initially considered a commercial failure, Monster Hunter would go on to become one of CAPCOM's highest selling franchises. Despite featuring an offline mode, Monster Hunter was primarily an online game. The official servers were shut down on December 31, 2007 in North America and Europe, and July 1, 2011 in Japan. This means that it is now impossible to play online on official CAPCOM servers. Despite this, the game still features a small active community on private servers.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
