The game features full Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, and Major League Baseball Players Association licenses. It holds the 98th spot on IGN's reader's choice top 100 games ever as of 2006. This is THE baseball game. It's loved by many creators, gamers and sports fans alike. 20 years later, this is still the best baseball game combination of tight yet fun arcade gameplay, simulation difficulty (if you want), and an Owner mode for us who love getting lost in numbers. All released after a broken curse for Boston, which the developers leaned into. It also released the year my team (Astros) made it to the WS, with a pretty stacked team (especially the bullpen). So for me, it's a real piece of history and a reminder of my love for baseball blossoming at 15 years old. I remember getting my Astros to the WS and NOT getting swept. lol
On PC, this game is dying. The physical discs are becoming rarer, finding "totally legal" copies of the game is very difficult because of the lack of interest (Owner mode is broken on most cracks). Sure, there will always be the PS2 version (how I originally played, and play now through emulation with upscale and widescreen patching) but nothing compares to PC versions of games and how much longer they live, and can be revitalized. There's a whole modding community (MVPmods) that has slowly died off because of the lack of access to this game on PC (in my opinion).
I feel like a release of this game on PC compatible with modern systems renamed to something like MVP Legacy Baseball or something would be amazing! Keep all the old teams, revamp the randomization of the "nobodies" so long Owner mode playthroughs are still interesting, let us have a full ballpark from the beginning in Owner mode if we want (the Astros play on a high school field that makes enough money to pay 60+ million to players... lol ok) and this would be hands down the best baseball game. That being said, all the above could easily be done through modding if the game was purchasable DRM free! Modding could flourish thanks to easy access to the game!

GolfThis game features a simplified type of golf. The area of the hole is rendered in light green, all areas outside the hole are rendered in a medium blue. On the larger holes the green is rendered as a dark green hole circle with the hole near the center. There are several obstacles that can appear, including trees, sand traps, and water features. On difficulty A, balls that go out of bounds stay there and must be hit back in; on difficulty B, the balls stick to the edge of the area. Balls hit near the water can soar over it, or if they land into the water, the ball is placed back where the shot was taken. Balls hit into sand traps will stick to the sides of the traps, and it takes a more powerful swing to free the ball. The player only uses one club - the amount of time the fire button is held down determines how much power the ball will be hit with, and how far it will go. The player's golfer can be moved anywhere on the field, with his golf club always facing the ball. On the larger hole the goal is to hit the ball on to the green. Once the player reaches the green, the game will zoom in on the green. The green is rendered as a light green circle, with a black dot as the actual hole. Once the ball reaches a hole, the player moves on to the next hole.

Fishing DerbyIn Fishing Derby, two fishermen sit on opposite docks over a lake filled with fish (and a shark that passes through). Using the joystick the player is able to move his line left right and up and down in the water. When a fish is hooked, the line slowly comes up to the surface of the water. Pressing the fire button on the joystick reels in the fish faster. However, if both fishermen have fish hooked, only one person can reel theirs in (the one who hooked theirs first). The shark that roams the water will try to eat hooked fish before they surface. The objective for both fishermen is to reach 99 pounds of fish first. There are six rows of fish; the top two rows have 2 lb. fish, the middle two rows have 4 lb. fish, and the two bottom rows have 6 lb. fish. The more valuable fish sit at the bottom, but they are harder to bring in as they run a higher risk of being eaten by the shark. The game's two variants are simply single player and multi-player. In both games the objective is to reach 99 lb. of fish first.Action

Horse RacingThis game is for 1 up to 6 players. When the game begins, you can place the bets, for the winner or for the first and second place. Then you can choose if an horse must be driven by a player or by the CPU. Only the third and the fourth horse can be driven by the players. There are 3 types of terrain: turf, mud or dry. When the race begins, the horses are speedier at the beginning, slower toward the end. They are different for speed at the starting gate, stamina, speed at the straight line, and for speed with different conditions of the race terrain. You (and the CPU too!) have the whip and the coax to spur a horse, and these tools could be useful to win a race even with a more tired horse.Action Non-fiction
