I discovered this game somehow in 2018 as a 12 year old. I became hyperfixated on the franchise, and played all three games on emulators. PaRappa the Rapper is the first ever rhythm game, and I wholeheartedly believe that, along with its spin-off and sequel, it is still the best rhythm game of all time. Unlike most of its successors, it features a colorful world, unforgettable characters, and a humorous story. And while those games that followed in its footsteps have you merely tapping to the beat as a passive observer, PaRappa invites you to join the jam by freestyling as an active player. Freestyling is hard, but once you get it, you'll be rushing to get a Cool on every song. PaRappa is truly in a league of his own, with unmatched charm and songs that stay with you. I want this game on GOG because it could really use a PC port. Not everybody has a PlayStation, and emulators struggle with input delay while running the game. I hope this can happen one day.

Beatmania IIDX 9th style
Beatmania IIDX 9th styleBeatmania IIDX 9th style is one of the many titles in Konami's IIDX rhythm game series, featuring more than 80 tracks, primarily from the arcade version of the same title. As usual for the beatmania series, the player is given seven piano keys and a turntable, and must play along with the notes that scroll down the screen to play the music. 9th style features a completely revamped interface compared to the previous titles, owing to the more powerful hardware that the arcade version ran on. There are three main modes: Arcade mode tasks the player with completing several tracks in succession, Free mode lets the player freely play any unlocked song, and Training mode lets the player practice parts of songs without danger of failure. The Beginner's mode from 5th style and the Class mode from 7th style are also present, as is the gallery mode.

Just Dance 2
Just Dance 2The concept of the game is the same as the original Just Dance. Requiring only one Wii Remote per player, up to four people can play at a time, as they follow on-screen choreographed moves set to classic dance tracks. There are four new dance modes. In "Just Dance Mode", players can get together and dance for as long as they want, just for the fun of it. Other options include "Non-Stop Shuffle" for a non-stopping gameplay, and "Medleys", in which short pieces of 5 songs are mixed. The second new mode, "Duets" allows players to dance together, and in the process forces them to pay more attention to the players around them instead of simply following on-screen prompts. "Dance Battle Mode" is a team mode that features up to 8-player support. The individual scores are the basis of the overall team scores. Lastly is "Just Sweat Mode", which is an exercise mode that allows players to measure the energy they expend while dancing as well as set objectives to be met during their dance sessions.
