I discovered this game somehow in 2018 as a 12 year old. I became hyperfixated on the franchise, and played all three games on emulators.
PaRappa the Rapper is the first ever rhythm game, and I wholeheartedly believe that, along with its spin-off and sequel, it is still the best rhythm game of all time. Unlike most of its successors, it features a colorful world, unforgettable characters, and a humorous story. And while those games that followed in its footsteps have you merely tapping to the beat as a passive observer, PaRappa invites you to join the jam by freestyling as an active player. Freestyling is hard, but once you get it, you'll be rushing to get a Cool on every song.
PaRappa is truly in a league of his own, with unmatched charm and songs that stay with you.
I want this game on GOG because it could really use a PC port. Not everybody has a PlayStation, and emulators struggle with input delay while running the game. I hope this can happen one day.
