My strongest memory of Pizza Worm takes me right back to the computer lab in school during the 90s. It felt like everyone was playing this game! It was so simple – just a little worm gobbling up pizza slices – but it had this totally addictive quality. What really stood out was how smoothly the worm moved; it wasn't those clunky, square turns you saw in other snake games. You had to be so precise with the controls, because if you held down an arrow key for even a split second too long, that was it – game over! You'd end up turning right into yourself.
Despite the simple premise, there was something incredibly charming about Pizza Worm. Maybe it was the pixelated graphics or the silly concept, but we were all completely hooked. It became this unspoken competition to see who could get the longest worm and the highest score. Even though it was freeware, it felt like this special discovery that everyone in the know was playing. It would be amazing to see this little piece of my childhood gaming memories preserved on GOG!
