Pokémon Rejuvenation

Pokémon Rejuvenation (2014)

by Janichroma, Reborn, Evolved
Genres:Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
Themes:Fantasy, Drama
Game modes:Single player
Story:Pokémon Rejuvenation is an episodically released Pokémon fan game and spiritual successor to Pokémon Reborn. Similarly to Reborn, Pokémon Rejuvenation is not a ROM hack, but a standalone game made with RPG Maker. The game takes place in the Aevium region, which was split into several islands after some catastrophic event in the past. The protagonist and their mother, Nancy, are headed there aboard the S.S. Oceana when it gets attacked by local villainous team Team Xen. With the ship destroyed and their mother captured, the protagonist is narrowly saved and escapes to East Gearen City — shaken, but ready to challenge the Pokémon League, take the fight to Team Xen, and hopefully, rescue their mother in the process. Like its inspiration, Pokémon Reborn, Pokémon Rejuvenation has a more mature story than mainline Pokémon games (albeit not as dark as Reborn's). It also features much more difficult encounters, with two difficulty levels available: Story and Classic. The game borrows Reborn's ideas of a field effect system, 18 Gym Leaders, and a level cap, but also replaces the traditional Elite 4 with an Elite 8 and grants new, unique moves to every gym leader. In addition, the game brings back Shadow Pokémon from Pokémon Colosseum and its sequel, now rebalanced, with Fairy-type Pokémon resisting their attacks.Show more

Tabula Rasa
Tabula RasaRichard Garriott's Tabula Rasa was an MMORPG developed by Destination Games and published by NCsoft, designed in part by some of the creators of Ultima Online including Richard Garriott. The game was a role-playing video game that blended certain shooter aspects into the combat system. It was officially released to retail on November 2, 2007, with customers that pre-ordered the game allowed access to the live servers from October 30, 2007. The development team released updates, called "Deployments," nearly every month following launch. The game required a monthly subscription. Tabula Rasa was about humanity's last stand against a group of aliens called the Bane. The story took place in the near future on two planets, Arieki and Foreas, which were in a state of constant conflict between the AFS (Allied Free Sentients) and the Bane. The term tabula rasa means "clean slate" in Latin, which refers to a fresh start, or starting over. According to the developers, the game included the ability for players to influence the outcome of a war between the player characters and the NPCs.

Grandia
GrandiaGrandia is a role-playing video game, developed by Game Arts and published by Entertainment Software Publishing for the Sega Saturn console as the first game in their Grandia series. Initially released in Japan in 1997, the game was later ported to the PlayStation in 1999, with an English version of the game appearing on the platform in North America in the following September by Sony Computer Entertainment America, and later in Europe in March 2000 by Ubisoft. The game was produced by much of the same staff who worked on the company's previous role-playing endeavor, the Lunar series, including producer Yoichi Miyagi and music composer Noriyuki Iwadare. Since its release, Grandia has become notable for its combat mechanics which have been carried over to future games within the franchise, and has spawned two spin-off titles - Grandia: Digital Museum and Grandia: Parallel Trippers - both released exclusively in Japan. In celebration of the announcement of renewing development on Grandia Online, which acts as a prequel to Grandia, the game was re-released on Sony's PlayStation Network platform in Japan as a downloadable title in April 2009 and in North America on February 25, 2010. It was re-released in Europe on November 10, 2010.
