I was, and still am, an avid player of Rise of Nations. One day, while looking for something to play I found this game using the name Rise of Nations and I thought it was some kind of expansion. No, it actually was a fully developed game with a steampunk esthetic. While I never played multiplayer, I absolutely loved the cheesy campaign and the music. I hope we can bring this and Armies of Exigo to GOG!

Don't think there's ever been a game like it since it was released - a complete jambalaya of Arabic, Mayan, Steampunk, and Clockwork civilizations in conflict. Pretty awesome, sad that it was never carried forward!

I played this game back when I was a teenegar. Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends was made with so much soul; the fantasy, the civilizations, the units design speak of the level of dedication the game received. It was part of the classical gang of RTS games from Microsoft and overall from the good RTS games, it's a cousin of an excellent game, Rise of Nations, too. Anyways we deserve to buy this game, there are no stores where we can't get digital copies right now. Please we need to make Rise of Legends come to GOG store.

This game was a big part of my childhood, I remember going back from school and just playing skirmish mode for hours, steampunk aesthetic is sooo good. I still have the original box along with CDs, unfortunately it doesn't work on Windows 11 no matter what I do. Oh I would do anything just to play it again like I did all those years ago. This game sparked my love for RTS games
Loved playing this game when it originally came out, love the mix of Clockpunk and Magic and just found the setting to be really interesting. Would love to see it on running on modern computers.

This game is still a lot of fun! Unique setting blending fantasy, steampunk, and other elements. Similar gameplay loop to Rise of Nations but with more city-based gameplay and three very unique factions. It also runs right out of the box on newer operating systems without any tricks, and it plays well at 4k resolution and high refresh rates. Wish list for a light "extended edition" remaster: modern multiplayer, UI scaling options for 4k, interpolate some choppy animations to make them smoother, hd texture pack, increased shadow mapping resolution.

I absolutely adore this RTS and have played through the lengthy campaign numerous times when I recently rediscovered the game. The unique races, their visuals and their differences in play, is why Rise of Legends is one of my favorites. That, and I can't get the music out of my head. These days, I believe the game has been abandoned but I would, without a doubt, pay for an updated or remastered copy. For starters, it's UI looks tiny in 4K (though the visuals still hold up), and it's animation framerate could use a boost to modern standards. Please bring this classic back to life on GOG!

Giacomo on his combat walker and his clockwork soldiers were fun to use. And eventually getting access to the Cuotl tech made the steampunk vibe sweet. That you were forced to choose between taking your Vinci or Alin forces at the latter part made for good replayability.
Those games also need your vote!

Hammer & Sickle
Hammer & SickleHammer & Sickle is a turn-based strategy game with role playing elements that uses the Silent Storm engine and universe. The year is 1949, with the Cold War between the US and Soviet Union looming and both sides uneasy at the thought of an atomic war occurring. The player takes the role of a Soviet commando on an undercover mission to meet a contact in Allied-occupied Germany. However, things go badly for this meeting, leaving the protagonist without proper support, equipment, and identification papers. Behind Allied-occupied lines, the player must attempt to stop a rogue third party intent on initiating World War III between the US and Russia. Players can choose to start with one of 6 player classes: Soldier, Grenadier, Scout, Sniper, Medic, and Engineer. Additionally, there are opportunities throughout the game to recruit additional characters to round out the party's abilities. The game itself features a branching plot where the player's actions and dealings with NPC's can have serious consequences later on. For example, an intelligent character may be able to talk his way out of a situation, and killing Allied soldiers may prompt more patrols later on and slide the situation towards World War III. Hammer & Sickle also features heavy squad-based combat, and it inherits the turn-based engine from Silent Storm. Players spend Action Points to perform various actions in battle each turn, while the enemy does the same. The engine also models realistic looking physics that feature ragdoll animations, bullet ricochet, and destructible environments. As for available equipment, there are 90 weapons and variants that can be found or bought.
