Played this when it first came out on the ATARI 2600. Spent endless hours trying to get to the end but never could. It killed three TVs in its heyday.
The idea was simple enough, use the 2600's joystick to avoid gunfire from ships and other aircraft all while avoiding hitting the side of the river which you could not go past. It was lots of fun back then and t's a shame ATARI games never brought it over from the ATARI 2600. But maybe GOG can.
I loved playing River Raid as a kid on the old Atari 2600. Don't remember being very good but I played it just about every chance I got all the same. Its one of those sentimental staples.
