Story:Sheep is a combination strategy and puzzle game, featuring light elements of war or battle simulations, built around a wacky story in which space-faring alien explorers from millennia ago devolve into domesticated sheep on Earth. Now their ancestors are trying to round them up by secretly enlisting the aid of two humans (Bo Peep and Adam Half Pint) and two animals (a sheepdog and a pet) through subliminal mind control.
Players take the role of the Earthly "herders" to lead the flocks through six worlds with multiple levels, eventually reaching special rendezvous point where they'll be loaded onto UFOs for the trip back to their home world of Ovis Aries. No direct control is exerted on the sheep so players must manipulate objects and obstacles, as well as rely on the strengths of each herder, to accomplish the tasks. Sheep was my first PC game and one of the first games I ever played. My father had gone on a trip, and when he returned, he gave this game to me and my brother as a gift. Many of my childhood memories revolve around this game.
To this day, I have the entire soundtrack, SFX, characters, and environments engraved in my memory. Everything is so vivid, funny, and full of personality.
It's a shame this game has been forgotten over time. My dream is for it to be re-released someday so I can play it again and relive all those memories.
I swear I don't remember how I came across this game, but I bought it once and had a lot of fun with the crazy story, that the sheep are actually aliens, and want to return to their planet, but need the help of people and dogs selected to serve as shepherds and guide the poor, defenseless sheep around the map. But don't be fooled by its cute appearance, the game is much harder than it seems, even remembering that my record was getting to the last level of the second world, the medieval fair. But it's still a very fun game, which I would love to be able to play again on GOG.
The Lost VikingsThe Lost Vikings is a puzzle-platform video game developed by Silicon & Synapse (now Blizzard Entertainment) and published by Interplay.
The game features infinite opportunities of retries in case the player loses one of the Vikings.
In 2015, The Lost Vikings were added as a playable hero in Heroes of the Storm, allowing players to control the three Vikings as individual units, making a unique departure from the typical heroes available.
Character abilities:
All three Vikings (Erik, Baleog and Olaf) have three health points which they can lose by getting hurt by enemies or by falling from great heights, and the ability to carry and use items, mainly keys, bombs, and food (which restore health points). Each of the Vikings has a unique set of abilities:
Erik can run faster than the other two, can jump, and can bash through some walls (and enemies) with his helmet.
Baleog can kill enemies with his sword, or from a distance with his bow (and a "life-time supply of arrows"). The bow can also be used to hit switches from a distance.
Olaf can block enemies and their projectiles with his shield, and use his shield as a hang glider. Olaf's shield can also be used as a stepping stone for Erik to enable him to reach higher ground, which would not be possible without the shield.Action Fantasy Comedy Science fiction
