I hope the CM of GOG acknowledge that I'm asking for the Shaba/Treyarch/Aspyr (PC/Wii/PS3/Xbox 360) version of the game. The Amazing Allies Edition by Amaze Ent. (PSP/PS2) is a metroidvania side-scroller beat 'em up that is MEH. The PC release by the god awful Aspyr is a mess. It's capped at 30 and breaking the cap resulting the game broken and it stutters a lot!

So, I know this is a bit weird, but Web Of Shadows came out the year I was born, so I've always had a special connection with this game. I was unfortunately born with, as "certain people" in my life would say "quite a few complex health conditions." so I haven't been able to do things like normal people, and even now I've gotten so sick that I am unable to go to face-to-face school, so lets just say I don't have a booming social life, so of course I turned to gaming. Gaming is genuinely my only outlet in life and one of the only things keeping me going, and Spider-Man is, embarrassingly, one of the most influential and important figures in my life. Everyone who I've seen online always say that this is the definitive Spider-Man game, so obviously I NEED to play it! I do understand that there is a whole lot of legal issues with the older Spider-Man games, but I really just wanted to get my story out there, and who knows, maybe even someone else can relate. Welp, thanks for letting me share my story GOG, and please, and I mean PLEASE, keeping gaming alive!
This is my favorite Spidey game ever, I tend to beat it once every year, still have the disc and an old laptop with a drive. Would be great to finally have it and share game page to everyone else who hasn't discovered this gem in the rough

Love the story concept of this while it is a Spider-Man game it feels like a Prototype game with the controls and combat and for people complaining about the game being 30fps has to remember this was during the age where games were capped at 30fps and honestly feels smooth to play.
One of my child hood favorites the best spiderman combat from any game both the symbiote suit and regular suit gameplay was great story was abit eh but I really want this game to come back.

When i was a kid Spiderman: Web of shadows was my favorite Spider-Man of all time i loved every second of it. After a while my parents decided to take it away for 2 weeks as punishment on account of having nightmares with Venom (i was a little too young to be playing it), 2 weeks pass and my parents were going to give it back but they forgot where they've actually hidden it, we did eventually find it tacked between some sheets in the closet about 10-15 years later only realise it was now almost unplayable on modern hardware.

This game came out unexpectedly for me, like a bolt from the blue. As a fan who grew up with the 1994 cartoon, I was delighted to play as Spider-Man who can switch between suit options. Dialogue options, QTE The moments and the plethora of heroes and villains, god, for 2008 it was great. The crooked controls, technical condition of the game and translation did not stop me from playing this game twice in my childhood I really hope that someday I will be able to play this wonderful childhood game again.

Best spider-man game that I know of. The combat system is top-tier, can be put in the same spot as God of War, Devil May Cry, Nier, Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden. I played on Xbox360 and I love it. Sadly this title is not backward compatible in newer xbox, and PC port was a mess back then. So there is no good way to play this title on modern platform.

To date, this STILL has the most in-depth combat and web-swinging mechanics from any Spider-Man game. It's from that special period of history in the mid-2000s before the MCU influenced every MARVEL product, so each character simultaneously feels true to their comic roots while also given enough creative freedom and expression to be unique in their own right. I replayed it more times than I can count across multiple platforms to achieve every alternate ending and will do so again if given the chance. I hope for it to be brought to PC and given the proper love it deserves - including the unlockable costumes exclusive to the Wii version if able. The Nintendo DS version is also one of the best side-scrollers I've ever played and would hope for that to be given attention as well, but I doubt that's possible.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

True Crime: Streets of LA
True Crime: Streets of LATrue Crime: Streets of LA is a free-roaming driving and action game similar in concept to Grand Theft Auto III. The game's structure is mission-based; most of the missions are dictated by the story and initiate following a cutscene that advances it. Failing a mission still allows the player to continue playing through the chapter and undertake subsequent missions; in some cases this will lead to branching paths and optional missions. However, in order to complete the whole chapter the player must eventually succeed in all the main missions.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Eternal Darkness
Eternal DarknessReportedly, when Nintendo saw Silicon Knights' survival horror title at a trade show, they quickly set the wheels in motion to bring the company in as a second party. Development of Eternal Darkness continued on the Nintendo 64 for a short time before being ported to the GameCube as Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. The Nintendo 64 version seemed to contain at least one playable character who only appeared as a bit-part in the final game: a knight named DeMolay. There appear to have been many other chapters cut from the final game as well, suggesting that Silicon Knights intended the game to have further sequels. Unfortunately, these also failed to appear.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's RequiemEternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is a psychological horror action adventure, released in 2002 by Nintendo for the Gamecube. It tells the stories of twelve characters that span across the world and two millennia who have to deal with ancient forces of evil which have been trying to manifest themselves in our world. Chapters take place in Ancient Rome, Persia, the Middle East, and modern-day Rhode Island. Throughout the game, the protagonists will have access to several weapons appropriate for their era, from bastard sword & gladius to flintlock pistol and shotgun. The game features an involved Magic system, which allows different spells to be created through the combination of runes. These spells can attack enemies, dispel illusions, and heal both the body and items. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem also has a unique feature called Sanity. If an enemy sees a character, their Sanity meter drops. When Sanity gets low, hallucinations begin to plague the character. Walls bleed, voices whisper from nowhere, the camera gets disoriented. Sanity can be restored by dealing a finishing move on a dying enemy, or with spells or some items.
