The synopsis really is "It", but its quite a good sell. I've been looking to play this game (preferably in a legal sense) for over a decade now. Made by the Carnivore devs, based on Dr Moreau, crazy action, cheesy plot, right timeline of fun jank FPS games on PC. Yet it seems to have questionably no physical circulation in the US, and is definitely not "for sale" on the digital space. I haven't played it myself, but its been an off/on online obsession to check back on it, skim playthroughs, and critiques on it. So technically I have no memories of myself playing the game, but so badly want it available so I can have a story within it.
This is the game that the ukrainian dev Action Forms made before Cryostasis. It is quite different though. Not nearly as slow or as story-focussed.
First impressions can be quite bad as the outdoors environments are frankly ugly and while the story has an occasional good moment to offer, the beginning lacks a hook.
I do not want to spoil, but in terms of how the combat works, enemy types to fight and environments the player will visit, there was a satisfying progression here that surprised me.
This one is a good game hiding behind weak first impressions and mediocre gameplay, but there really is a lot to appreciate here.

In Gears of War 2, the COG continues its fight against the Locust horde, who are attempting to sink all of the cities on the planet Sera. Sergeant Marcus Fenix leads Delta Squad into the depths of the planet to try to stop the Locust during the assault upon Locust territory. The player controls Fenix in the main mission campaign, with the ability to play cooperatively with a second player controlling Fenix's best friend and fellow Squad member Dominic "Dom" Santiago. The game includes several existing and new multiplayer modes including five-on-five battles between human and Locust forces, and a "Horde" mode that challenges up to five players against waves of Locust forces with ever-increasing strength. New weapons and gameplay mechanics such as "chainsaw duels" and the ability to use downed foes as "meatshields" were added to the game.
On its release weekend, Gears of War 2 sold over two million copies, and within two months of release, had sold four million copies. It was the seventh best selling video game of 2009 and received several accolades. King's KnightKing's Knight is a fantasy-themed top-down shooter where four heroes have to unite to defeat a dragon and rescue a princess in despair. It was one of the first games published by Square Soft (now one-half of Square Enix). King's Knight is a variation on Konami's Knightmare which sold extremely well.
The first four stages involve you powering up your characters as far as they can go, picking up shields (to increase defense), boots (to increase speed), swords (to increase attack power), and spell icons (which will be required to be held by everyone for the final storm on the castle), defeating monsters along the way. Before starting an away mission, you have to assemble a team of four crew members that differ in strength and in tactical and technical ability. Some crew members also have special abilities, Dr. Crusher can heal other crew members, Geordi and Data can see in the dark and Data can survive without air. Away missions are shown from a top-down perspective and you can control each team member individually or order different members to follow your currently selected character around. Most away missions are a mixture of simple (real time) combat and puzzle solving that usually consists getting hints from tricorder readings and finding objects that have to be used in the correct way.Action Science fiction
