Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour

Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour (2000)

by Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Interactive
Genres:Racing
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer, Split screen
Story:Walt Disney World Quest Magical Racing Tour boasts more playable characters than any kart racer before it (a total of 13 are offered), and each of the game's tracks allows you to maneuver a different vehicle. Instead of being confined to just a go-kart, you'll get a bobsled, or a rocket ship, and several others. Collect a myriad of power-ups to your vehicle such as Mickey coins which allow you to race a little faster with each additional coin you collect. Or use the guided bottle rocket to get a speed boost and home in on your opponent. You can also collect items that can be used against your opponents like the frog spell, which will leave them hopping in your dust. Or launch an acorn at them and send them flying out of control.Show more

Still a great cart game which supports splitscreen. I used to play this one with my little sister and some friends. The times we had! Would love to be able to play the game again. A couple of my friends still remember this gem!
Oh what a game! I still get flashbacks of this game from time to time. It's probably the first racing game that made me appreciate track-design & atmosphere; it had several cool tracks that I'm still fond of like the Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, etc. Funny enough, I even recall being bought to Disney World one or two years later after I got the game. So I felt like this game was preparing me for what was to come; I was beyond excited! This game being brought back via GOG would feel like icing on a cake for me.
Those games also need your vote!

Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto IVGrand Theft Auto IV is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the eleventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on-foot or by vehicle. Throughout the single-player mode, players play as Niko Bellic. An online multiplayer mode is included with the game, allowing up to 32 players to engage in both co-operative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting. Two expansion packs were later released for the game, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, which both feature new plots that are interconnected with the main Grand Theft Auto IV storyline, and follow new protagonists.

Wipeout XL
Wipeout XLWipEout XL is set in the year 2097, around four decades after its predecessor. Instead of the F3600 anti-gravity racing competition, the game features an even faster and more dangerous tournament: the F5000 AG league. The gameplay system is similar to that of the previous game: players race against each other or computer in high-speed futuristic environments, liberally picking up weapons scattered around the stages and using them against the opponents to finish the race in the highest position.

Need for Speed: Underground 2
Need for Speed: Underground 2Need For Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview after the events of Need for Speed: Underground. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. The driver, who has a unique scythe tattoo, makes a call confirming the accident, and the flashback fades out.

Highway Hunter
Highway HunterHighway Hunter is a DOS-based video game created in 1994. It was developed by Omega Integral Systems, released by Safari Software, and distributed by Epic MegaGames (now Epic Games). The game uses a top-down view. The player's car is situated on a raised highway. The ground is visible on the sides. The player's car is constantly moving upwards through the level, though the player can maneuver his car around the screen within the boundaries of the highway. The player fires at enemies that come from the top of the screen. There are ground enemies on the highway and flying enemies that can come in from the sides or the top. Some enemies may drop weapon power ups which make the player car's projectiles stronger or more numerous. The game is divided into three episodes each with a number of levels, with a boss at the end of each level. The shareware version omits the second and third episodes. The highway environments start out looking earthly, but the player moves into more alien levels later in the game.
