Your game is hands down one of my favourite games,ever. I have one major issue though, that I think not only should be fixed but could be fixed with relative ease. I know you lot are in the middle of overworking a lot on the game, and i know your probably inundated with emails, posts, twits, etc. like these, but this is one that I think you'll agree with and Im pretty damn sure everyone who plays the game, especially old school RPG players who played the pen and paper game would totally agree with.
We need to feel like we're in danger. Constantly. When we're in Night City. One of the load screens has an interview with a police liasion, Kakowsky? Krakowsky? Anyroad, she states that life in the CIty was getting safer, citing only 7000 some odd murder. Last YEAR. Yet the worst place in Night City, Jig Jig street, is maybe the size of a city block, has two prostitutes and one drug dealer. And no fights. And people think we killed the Emperor.
We should have 'Saka Ninjas after us. We should have other merc's after us. We should have Militech searching for us. There should be times when you have a hidden sniper taking shots at us. Or a random time we're alone, get attacked by Arasaka Spec Ops. Or chased by a team of mercs. Or some runner attempts to fry us when we're jacked in. They should be random and scripted. As long as we feel like hunted animals. Both prey and predator in Night City. There are so many options to have interactions like this. A brawl in Afterlife with another merc. A Militech truck slams into you from nowhere while your cruising the desert. Or a Valgus comes swooping out of the sky, guns blazing. No way to take something like that out so you just gotta run and pray you make it to the city where you can lose them in the maze of back alley streets. So many opportunites, so many options. Im sure its far more difficult than I can imagine. Im an artist, not a computer animator or programmer, or anything else. But I am a professional sculpter. And i do know how long that takes. Months at least. My current piece has taken me a year and its still not quite finished. So I get that its not something thats gonna happen overnight. But something like this would change the game so much. The city is one of the biggestt characters in the game, but its gilded. Theres nothing to it. Theres nothing really to do in this sprawling city. Buy clothes? Talk to a random stranger? But no quests. Not really. The City needs to become the Character it is. Its always been the main character, even when it was Cyberpunk 2020. You made it look gorgeous, but its shallow as a paper plate.
Adding something like this, making the player feel, as I said, like the prey and the predator, would add so much more depth to the game. I keep wondering how im walking around in daylight when Arasaka, one of, if not the most powerful megacorps in the world, has just lost its leader, and Im the main suspect.
