My Advantis locks my account when I buy from GOG. How do I stop this. I talked to them and they say the company that does it always does this with over seas companies . I have to call every time I but. Is there anything you coa do. I have been buying on steam because it's easier, but many times GOG has better deals . Can you call Advantis CU and fix this ? thanx Steve
I had the same problem no matter how many times I called. In my opinion you're better of getting Pay Safe cards. Just look up where they sell them near you. You can get them with certain preset amounts.

I'd get rid of advantis, then. Security is one thing, but it's so you can keep your money and use it on what you want. If you can't use your money when you want, then why use them to handle your money? It's especially worse given the reason to use these things is usually so you can buy internationally...
If you can't contact your bank and convincingly tell them about GOG and how it is an actual legitimate business, maybe that's a bad sign and you should take your money placement and storage elsewhere.

Or you could more effectively visit a local branch and have a long talk with them.
If your bank is shit, switch to a bank that's not shit.

I totally agree with kohlrak on this one. If your bank (or in this case, credit union) it giving you problems using your own money, and if they aren't ofering anything other banks/credit unions don't, I'd ditch em.
+1 for ditching this bank.
Any bank that stopped me from buying what I wanted to buy with my own money wouldn't have me as a customer anymore.
And that includes those banks that have started cracking down on the purchase of cryptocurrency in various ways.
If you want to stick with the bank, a few things you can try:

- see if they have a separate pre-paid card that does allow international purchases, like a Visa gift card.
- Paypal, but I suggest removing your card / bank info from Paypal once the transaction is complete.
- Others mentioned the Paysafe card. Not sure how you acquire / use one, but it's mentioned in every one of these threads so it's likely a good option.
