Anyone just happening on this thread can find out more about GOG Forum Mafia by visiting the Mafia Admin thread. It contains a brief description on the game, and many links to more information, in the first few posts.

This will be a quick, open set-up filler game. The game will be Russian Roulette. There will be room for only 7 players (5 Town, 2 Mafia), but, if greater interest is shown, then steps will be made to leave as few people out as possible. Either someone else will run another game concurrently (yogsloth has offered), or this game can be changed to a larger, but still fast paced, game set-up.

Looking at prior games run with this set up, it seems as if this can easily be expanded to allow for 10 players, two of whom will be Mafia. Thus, I'll run this with any number from 7 to 10 players.

Players:
1. Bookwyrm627
2. trentonlf
3. zeogold
4. Lifthrasil
5. drealmer7
6. JMich
7. HypersomniacLive
8. bler144
9. dedoporno
10. cristigale

Alternates/overflow-game:
1.
2.
3.

If someone wants to just be an Observer, a link to an Observer Thread can be provided.

Observers:
1. moonshineshadow
2. CSPVG

Well, read the first post of the Admin thread for a short description of Forum Mafia, there are links to tutorials a couple of posts down as well. This game is going to be a bit different than the usual Mafia games we play here anyway, though. It should be much faster paced, due to the way this micro-variant is set up. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

I'm happy to sign up, just be aware that I'm new to not only forum mafia, but forums in general. Only thing I've got going for me is that I've played a couple of games of Mafia in real life as well as around 300 games of Town of Salem.

Real life experience is good; you should know what the game is about then. The forum experience is a little different than you might get in RL, obviously, but the basic rules are the same. Feel free to glance at a few of the previous games (links are in the Admin thread) to get a general idea of how the games play.

This particular set-up is quite different, as there isn't any 'Mafia' as such. It is just a 7 player free-for-all, with no actual Night phase. Even though it is a faster-paced set-up, expect this game to last a few days.

edit: Oops, I was wrong. This game does have a Mafia. Dang unclear wiki-pages. There will be 2 Mafia and 5 Town players.

At any rate, you are on the list. :)

Sign me up. I always wanted to play Russian Roulette - and revolvers are so hard to come by here in Germany, so I'll have to play it online.
Confirming, let's kill some people!!

Just don't get on my naughty list ;)
Hmmmm. I think I should ask permission from my partner first...

Permission granted. I have a score to settle with you anyhow! ;-) And russian roulette might be just what we need. :-)
In case anyone missed my edit above, this game does have a Mafia team. I had to follow a link to an actual game to double check.

Do we want a time limit for kill attempts as that game has? Obviously 45 minutes in that game is too short for here, but maybe 24 hours? I am open to suggestions.

New mafia game? Chance to daykill? Sign me up.
One slot left (2 if drealmer7 can't get permission). I think this game can easily be expanded to 8 slots (for 6 Town, 2 Mafia), if need be.

The second link on the page you linked to shows an 8 person game. The first link shows a 7-player game where one town is given a one-shot bulletproof...

His original goal was a 10 player game...

Also interesting to note is that one cannot shoot again until everyone has had a chance or someone has been shot...when the day advances...

That initial page leaves out a few key details...and is mistaken about the game being run as a 7-player game twice (8 the second time).
