Galaxy has been publicly available now for 2 years and there are still a multitude of games that have still not had their installers trivially updated to contain the Galaxy integration files. As such when you install these games via the standalone installers they do not show up in Galaxy automatically. Some of them do not even import into Galaxy when you choose to import them manually. The purpose of this thread is to track all of the games which GOG has still not yet added Galaxy support to, as well as the games that it refuses to import manually.

To test whether a game installer has proper Galaxy integration support, folllow these steps:

1) Make sure that your local backup is the absolute latest version of the game, or download the latest one.
2) If there are patches available that are a newer version, download them too.
3) Exit Galaxy completely if it is running or it can interfere with manual game installation and patching.
4) Install the game manually via the standalone installer.
5) If there are patches, install them manually as well.
6) Optionally install any DLC and DLC patches if available and desired.
7) Wait until all installers are completed and exit them
8) Start Galaxy client
9) If the installed game did not show up in Galaxy, click on the GOG logo at the top and choose "Scan and import folders" and point it to the directory where all of your GOG games get installed to by default.

If the game is not detected at this point, then the installer does not have support for Galaxy integration. Please indicate the full name of the game preferably copy and pasted in mixed-case form the game's store page.

10) If the game scan does not detect the game you just installed:
----- Find the game in your game library shelf in Galaxy and click on it.
----- Click on the [More] button and go to "Manage Installation..." and then "Import folder...".
----- Choose the folder where the game was installed into.

If the game still does not show up in Galaxy after all of this or you get an error about being unable to find a game where you know it is installed, then add a comment indicating that the game will not import into Galaxy at all either. This indicates that something is very broken.

Games that are not autodetected by Galaxy upon installation, nor when using "Scan and import folders" because they lack proper Galaxy integration:

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf

Games that lack Galaxy integration which Galaxy refuses to recognize when doing a manual import from the "Manage Installation" menu on the game's library page:

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf

There used to be a Support article that listed all the games that didn't work with Galaxy; unfortunately, the only thing I can find on the new Support site is this article, which simply mentions there being "a handful" that are incompatible. The last time I saw the old list, though, I do seem to remember there being no more than about half a dozen left, so the list is not very long. Honestly, I'm not sure how worthwhile it is for people to go through manually testing every game in the catalogue like this, when a ticket to Support (or a PM to a relevant blue) would probably get you that list much more painlessly. : )

The list of games that do not have Galaxy integration support is much larger than a handful. I have a local spreadsheet containing more than 50 games from direct testing over the last 8 months. I haven't posted them all yet because the information is dated, but as I re-test them and find them still lacking Galaxy support I'll be updating the list.

GOG did have a list in support that had a dozen or so games, but that list was vastly incomplete and only included games that they had received direct problem reports through support on, and probably only after they got enough people complaining about it to warrant adding them to the list.

There are probably hundreds of games still lacking Galaxy integration support, but it is just invisible to the community largely because most people just install directly through Galaxy, or if they do install manually they probably just do not talk publicly about it every time they experience a problem. We're small in numbers, and only a fraction of us are likely to even mention it publicly likely.

I hereby volunteer to be the voice of chaos, burning fires under GOG's butt to fix their installers on behalf of everyone. :)

If there's actually as games affected as you say, then fair enough, and good luck, I suppose. Though I should think that the number of Galaxy users who still install games from the standalone installers is somewhat limited.

I'm pretty sure spreadsheets are law-aligned, and therefore anathema to chaos. ;)

I could be wrong, but it looks like you guys are talking about two different things. HunchBluntley looks to be talking about the list of games GOG said was incompatible with Galaxy (meaning you can not install them in Galaxy via Galaxy). That list is rather small. Skeltonbow seems to be talking about games (I assume installers) that lack Galaxy support, meaning Galaxy won't automatically detect them. This list is of course far larger.

Just pointing this out... :P

A list of those games can be found here.

I understand the distinction there, but it's worth pointing out that some of the games that GOG had on the list do actually work just fine in Galaxy too though and GOG was wrong to flag them as incompatible. I got two of them working trivially just by actually installing them and using them, and reported it to them that their claim it didn't work was incorrect so they removed the games from the list and fixed it finally. The two games that used to be on that list which I reported do in fact work to them are:

- Lords of the Realm (CD Version)
- The Bard's Tale

Not sure what they did after that though. :)

I don't think I own any of the other games or else I'd take a crack at them also. I do have Penumbra Requiem but never looked at it.
