Got a question, why do i always get the same recommended games when i brows on the product page of any game? for months i get the same games recommended, it's becoming annoying. On other websites i use that feature to find similar games, here i only get this 4 (see image) all the time, on any game.

That's also what I see, except that I already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition.
Nobody said that GOG's recommendation system was good, just that it existed.

And honestly I'm not sure it's much a feature.

The system could pick four psudo-random results from the entire database and probably get better results.

Yeah - it shows the same games for me (also on every game's page).
Btw: don't fall for this sales trick - even if you own the games, they will still get recommended to you.

Just another "GOG speciality"... shrug

It probably doesn't use advanced AI to predict what you might like, but just games that are highly rated, ie. liked by others. Considering all those games seem to be such. Yes, even Cyberpunk after the bug fixes, it is even mentioned in the Youtube video of games you should play before you die:

I wouldn't read much into some rando's list of favorites, half of which are his childhood gems.

Maybe I should make a video of youtube videos one shouldn't take at face value :P

At least he takes the effort to explain why he thinks the said games are great or at least worth to play. One may of course agree or disagree with those points.

I didn't watch the whole video but apparently the bloke is quite young, if those, mostly relatively new, games are his "childhood gems". Or maybe I am just old then. To me e.g. Cyberpunk is a "recent game" and the newer Prey game is a "relatively new" game. Then again, I also consider "Gran Torino" a recent movie, and was surprised to realize the other day it is already like a 15 years old movie (I would have guessed it is like 5-6 years old movie)... damn, watching that movie I thought it would be Clint's last movie as he would die of an old age any day now, but here he still is, 15 years later, still even making movies...

Well, Witcher and Cyberpunk it's quite obvious why they are recommended to everybody. Probably this is the reason why they have hardcoded that widget. Disco Elysium is quite popular so makes sense to be on the list. But Monkey Island it's a mystery to me. It's not a good game and it's not popular. Maybe it was paid? or was just a random pick from one of the developers?

Anyway, that dude's best games list sucks. Only StarCraft is a game that you should play, in my opinion.
