rz4: So I got this problem first when I bought Riddick some time ago. My internet connection was pretty sh*tty back that time so it took hours to download the damn game. And it wouldn't download correctly... it didn't matter if I was using GoG downloader or I tried through the browser it always ended in a failure. So I tried again and again and for the 6-7th time it finally downloaded without any error or missing file.
Now I have a much better internet connection so I thought there wouldn't be any problem when I purchased SWAT 3 but I was wrong once again. I can't download it though the browser because it always ends in an error display saying I run too many things at once (which I don't) and the downloader just stops merely second before it would finish downloading the game and it stays that way no matter what I do.
So I search around in the support section and what do I find again and again? Use galaxy. That's the solution. Use the 100% optional client because without it you won't be able to access the game you just purchased. Well no GoG, I won't use your client because I don't want to. I don't care if it's the most awesome thing ever created I won't install another client, I'm sick of them.
In the end I just torrented the thing under 2 min. then deleted the torrent client. I was done in about 10 minutes. No hassle, no extra crap to run in the backround. And don't even start about how torrent is stealing 'cause I bought the game, I just couldn't access it and that is a pretty big problem if you ask me.

Please GoG continue to support your downloader. I like this site, I like that you sell games without DRM but if I have to get the game I purchase here illegally just to play it...I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

sunshinecorp: Judas, I apologise in advance for the question, because you quite probably get it a million times per day, but is there an ETA for a Linux version of Galaxy? At least a beta? I'm one of those fools who actually like the idea!

Randalator: But it's also, like, a client and stuff. That's, like, totally evil unlike a seperate downloader which, like, totally is not.
Btw. Galaxy downloads often fail for me, so GOG is totally forcing me to use alternative methods like the Downloader or my browser. For shame!

omega64: It's not, I've been using Firefox since forever and haven't encountered it. :P

timmy010: it is the driver, but it's the most stable driver for me and i updated around 2 months ago. i could update but then something else would break. best leave it alone ;-)
