Ghostbreed: Or is it just all satire? Like The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad, but with black people?
I also don't understand the character Uncle Ruckus. An old black man, who hates black people and talk shit about them whenever he can. Even though he's black himself.
Uncle Ruckus is a caricature of the self-hating black man also known as an "Uncle Tom" in popular American culture.

"Is "The Boondocks" racist?"

Not as racist as Dave Chappelle when he played a Ku Klux Klan leader :)

Smannesman: If you say so.
I enjoyed Venture Bros, Metalocalypse, Robot Chicken, Rick & Morty, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman and Aqua Teen Hunger Force which I think are all Adult Swim shows.
Although it's very possible I'm wrong about that.

NoNewTaleToTell: No love for for Moral Orel or Squidbillies? Or the Oblongs?

Oh and is Squidbillies southern-ist? Southernphobic? Somebody help me out here!

Ghostbreed: Pretty sure it's mostly satire in the same vein as Chappelle's Show. Not to say it couldn't be serious, it had some really good serious episodes in its early days. Actually to be honest I thought the serious episodes were better, but I guess they weren't bringing in the ratings Adult Swim wanted, sorta like why Morel Orel was canceled.
Well, "-phobic" would imply it fears Southerners so I think it's more or less a satire on the American South although, truth be told, the Squidbillies sound like they poke fun at hillbillies so people from mountainous states since the South doesn't have too many mountains :)

NoNewTaleToTell: Are you saying the show creators don't really fear Early showing up at their offices with his sawed off and his party liquor and a hat that probably says something obscene?!

To me it parodies both rednecks and hillbillies, maybe leaning a bit more towards rednecks. I wonder if Unknown Hinson (the voice of Early) has any say in that, because his music is a lot like Squidbillies and he's from North Carolina (more rednecks than hillbillies there).
They probably don't :) The rednecks are too busy hootin' and hollerin' to really care :)

budejovice: I can (kinda, but not really as you have some south in your past) forgive you denying Kentucky, Virginia, and maybe even Tennessee or North Carolina a place in the "The South", but the Appalachians extend into South Carolina and Georgia... and even into Alabama. Also, there are the Ouachitas and Ozarks in Arkansas, extending into Oklahoma. Plus big stuff in West Texas. :)

EDIT: Might need to change my forum tag back to "mountain bum" after that one...
I never had a chance to see those parts of the South and it is my bad, you are right :)
