Baldur's Gate I and II Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, all give GOG buyer another classic version, even when he/she have owned the classic game before buying EE.

I asked about the issue in GOG Support, and their official reply is:

Hello,
unfortunately we are unable to provide you with a gift code for the original version of Planescape Torment. This is part of the agreement we have signed with the publishers of this game, and the choice was between making it available as bonus content the way it is now or not making it available at all. Due to his, we cannot provide any gift codes for this game. I apologize if this is an inconvenience.

kbnrylaec:
That means if I in the future want to try the EE it overrides my Classic instead of being a second seperate entity in my library?

They have different gamecard and different installers, but you will not get additional key if you have owned the old game.

Look at the bright side: That's one less reason to give money to those vultures.
