Bregan123: One last question for all of you wonderful helpful people:
Context- I used to always have trouble getting LAN games to work and stuff with Hamachi back in the day.
Assuming again this is me and my wife sitting next to each other,(with the same or different copies) what would be the best way to go about getting us connected into a game of NWN or BG II together?
Just use the LAN function built into the game or...? Treat me like I know nothing, because I probably don't.
For NWN: Just use the LAN function. You will need two keys. So for NWN2, you need to buy two copies. For NWN1, you can buy one copy and then just use the default serial key and then use the one you get from support for the other copy.
For BG, you need just one copy, but you need an IPX wrapper (not sure if this works on Win 10 -- I did it on Win7).
From gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/baldurs_gate_how_to_connect_via_multiplayer/post6 :
So I dug up another another method...(if you use Windows 7 or Vista) and its via IPX.
1. Download IPXwrapper from -> solemnwarning.net/ipxwrapper
File should be -> ipxwrapper-0.3.1.zip
(Extract the files to a folder)
2. Run the 'directplay.reg' file, to import some IPX registry keys.. (its the merge option)
3. Copy all the DLL files in the zip to your game folder, there should be 4 DLL files
5. RUN 'ipxconfig.exe' file -> select your Network adapter -> enable (put tick) to 'Enable Interface' -> apply and close it (you won't need it again)
6. Now run the game
7. In the Multiplayer option there should be 'IPX' option to choose for Protocol, change it to IPX and host a game
8. On the other system on LAN, do the same and join the 'IPX' game you just hosted.
*** (confirm if it works).
@Knightoflodis, I hope this works.
(this also works for darkstone, which is a great co-op game, too -- it has ages poorly, though)
And in response to Licurg's post about installing on a wife's computer, GOG is ok with that.

Yes. We do not limit the number of installations or reinstallations, as long as you install your purchased games on computers in your household (from gog.com/support/website_help/downloads_and_games)
