You can also enrich your experience with the Source Hunter DLC, that comes with two unique in-game items, a digital artbook, design documents and a full original soundtrack.

Divinity: Original Sin is the old-school role-playing title you've been dreaming about. If you were ever imagining how the legendary classics like Baldur's Gate would look and feel like, were they developed today, this is your answer! Larian Studios managed to make good on all of their promises of classic gameplay, extensive world, gripping storyline, and flexible system paired with high production value of contemporary double-A titles. With up to a hundred hours of playtime needed to beat the game with all of its branching stories and tons of optional quests the game can prove to be everything you want it to be, and more! It also takes what's best after the modern games: rich and vivid 3D graphics, an extensive item crafting system, and a finely balanced multi-player mode. A perfect mix of classic and new RPG design, if we ever saw one.

Set out to explore the fantastic colorful realm created by Larian Studios, and make a new home for yourself in the vibrant world of Divinity: Original Sin (or even grab some extra Source Hunter DLC gear), on GOG.com. The price of the game varies from region to region, but don't be alarmed! Following the GOG.com tradition we're offering a Fair Price Package with this title, so everyone who is adversely affected by the pricing plan will be compensated with gift-codes (you will find yours in your order confirmation email).

NOTE:
The version of the game offered here comes with the full single-player campaign, but currently supports only LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes, with on-line multiplayer features coming as a later update, powered by GOG Galaxy, our DRM-Free online gaming platform. Thank you for your patience!

GOG.com: The version of the game offered here comes with the full single-player campaign, but currently supports only LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes, with on-line multiplayer features coming as a later update, powered by GOG Galaxy, our DRM-Free online gaming platform.
avatar
TheJadedOne: Does this mean LAN/DirectIP will be dropped at some point, or will LAN/DirectIP always remain an option, even after Galaxy support is added? Because you can call Galaxy "DRM-Free" all you like, it won't change the facts about how multiplayer is impacted during GOG server outages (or any login issues) if the game drops support for LAN/DirectIP.

Unless there is official confirmation that LAN/DirectIP won't be dropped, I'm going to give this game (at best) the same treatment I did for AoW3 and its DRM'ed multiplayer.

avatar
ashwald: when the "multiplayer through Galaxy" update for Divinity Original Sin comes in August, are there any plans to keep the LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes for people who don't want to use the client?
avatar
TheJadedOne: For me, if the Galaxy client itself supports LAN/DirectIP without requiring GOG's servers at all, then that would be good enough. I'm not so concerned about using a bit of software (the client) as I am about the dependence on GOG's servers. But AFAIK, so far we don't have such details about the capabilities/modes of the Galaxy client. (If the Galaxy client itself took care of LAN/DirectIP that could be a good thing because it removes a chunk of code that would otherwise have to be duplicated across games, and it standardizes the user interface for setting up multiplayer.)
To answer your question regarding LAN/Direct IP:

No, it will NOT be dropped.

flankengott80: Hi,

when will be the new D:OS Patch 1.0.63 uploaded to GOG.com?
We're waiting for the next patch, actually, since 1.0.63 still has some problems :)

IanM: Have GOG management ever considered a policy of either refusing to sell games that are broken at launch, or even just highlighting on the purchase page that there are problems that need to be addressed in forthcoming patches?

Of course I can see that it would make life much more difficult with publishers, and D:OS is obviously in a far better state than something like that Sims disgrace perpetrated by EA. Is there a line? how unfinished can a game be before it's unsellable?
Well, we did pull one game (Dark Matter) because of the ending issue, but as far as anything else goes, I am not privy to what happens in the upper echelons of GOG, so I have no definite answer for that question, sorry :/

Pheace: 1.066 you mean? Because that's out already.
nope, another one. 1.0.66 doesn't fix the issue

Thiev: nope, another one. 1.0.66 doesn't fix the issue
avatar
Pheace: What *is* the issue? :)
There is a persistent save game issue and some crash issues at certain locations.

reaver894: The one on 32bit OS that manually increasing the available RAM appears to solve?
I don't know, I am just reporting from the little that I've read/heard on this issue :)

fortune_p_dawg: What specifically, Mr Judas, is the issue being had with save games? Should I be backing my save file up in between play sessions?
Here you go:

I guess it's a "save then crash somewhere after saving issue". Again, I don't know what the exact issue is and what causes it.

L0stOldGamer: While you are waiting on that patch could someone at GOG please fix the no DLC attached to my account from the Kickstarter code I redeemed? Larian said it should be there now since they spoke to GOG about it. I did a refresh and still don't see it.
Thank you for reporting this. We looked into the problem and found out what went wrong. Luckily, only a handful of Backers were affected. We've unlocked your Kickstarter codes so that you can now redeem just the DLC.

If any of you purchased the DLC, assuming you wouldn't get it from the Kickstarter code, we will of course refund that purchase.
The patch to game version 1.0.67 is now live.

HypersomniacLive: Hmm, slap Steam and CEG on top of everything else? Sounds irresistible!! ;-P
avatar
IanM: for an extra $50 you can get the next tier with Securom and Tages :)
Double size your order and we'll throw in an extra helping of StarForce :D :D

Vitek: Why there are no update flags for any D:OS patch?

It is easy to miss the patches If one is not following this thread.
Because the MAC patch is still in the works. Update will be flagged when both versions are ready for download.
avatar
srilumpa: Speaking of testing, does anybody know the difference between the process of getting a patch on Steam and on GOG?

I ask because a difference in the amount of testing done by the stores (especially if one does no testing) after receiving the patch (i.e. after it has been tested by the developers) could easily explain part of why GOG is slower in getting patches out the door.
avatar
Pheace: On Steam it's all automated. Devs can push out their own patches to the store. As far as I'm aware they can simply upload to the location of the core game and any changes to it will be uploaded to Steam users who have the game installed. There's no testing there. The state of the game is the devs responsibility.

That's one of the worries people have for GOG. Supposedly they do some in-house testing before releasing it. If that stays true, they can never update at the same time as Steam, there will always be a delay.

If they don't, well then they loose what some people consider good about GOG's patching style.

@Patching, the Exe thing is a possibility, but then that basically means the patches would be in the same state they are now. If that's the case, but there's already regular delays when it comes to new patches, then what reason is there to believe it will be any faster after Galaxy? Galaxy might allow auto-downloading etc, but unless they have an incredibly inefficient way of doing the patches right now and overhaul it intensively with Galaxy I don't see why that would allow them to do it faster.
The only delays we really experience with patches is when we don't get the new version/patch/etc. and when there is a severe gamebreaking issue with a patch where it breaks a game to the point of becoming unplayable.

Pheace: Ow I see. So you're saying it was Larian who didn't send the patches then when the Kickstarters were already playing the original release?
No, not saying that at all, actually :)

I am talking about patches in general :)
