twillight: From youtube review(s) this looks like Dark Souls Light, Zelda Light, The Immortal Light, and all is a satire.

wildapple-SI: I did read that the game can be finished in less than 3 Hours.
One of the earlier reviews said it is about 11 hours long?
HowLongtoBeat gives 10-20h.

And Baldur's gate can be finished in an hour or a half, so this doesn't mean squat. Eg. Pokemon Blue takes 26.5 hours to beat on average, but can be beaten in less then 8.5 minutes.
8 bucks for quality entertainment, where I can enjoy trying out a couple of big titles without absolute dedication to them (and paying 60+ bucks each), is fine in my book.

I think I'm 7-8 hours in and I'd say I'm near the end of the game.
You can probably get another 3-4 hours out of the game though, I haven't visited all of the dungeons yet.

Tbh, I'm more interrested in how much it worth staying around.
Eg. Bio Menace takes, what, an hour to finish, and I guess I've dumped in 10+ hours. While I have games I payed full price, but quit after 30 minutes, because I hated them. Or there is V.O.T.E.R. Golem from Longsoft MultiMedia, which I waited 10+ years to finish/play again), recently found it from a legit source, and it did worth the wit for me.

Either way, the statistics on Stream says, the "pros" beat it around 10 hours, but the average player need almost 20 hours.
It's probably not for the hardcore players, but those who want to try themselves out against these modern "giant bosses" and stuff, It'll be a good pick, just to see how the mechanics work. That was the attractive part in the recent Alien Breed trilogy giveaway for me too, but that looked aweful between the fights - and the between-time looks the majority of that game. This has humour, and a "speeder bike" from Return of the Jedi.
I've been playing on the hardest difficulty, already spent a couple of hours and have at max just like 1/8th of the map explored. It all depends on your playing style. Watching a speedrun on Youtube or some aggregator sites isn't really relevant.

So are you enjoying it?

It's nothing stellar and the jokes unfortunately dry out pretty quickly, but the "open world" is quite compact and doesn't really overstay its welcome. The dungeons are also pretty short. I can see the game taking 4-5 hours if you just rush the main quest. I just hit what could be considered the last third of the game and am about 7 hours in.

The combat is somewhat simplistic but on the hardest difficulty, requires some effort. Blocking, dodging etc. Or you can just pull out your ranged weapon and nuke everything but the enemies immune to ranged weapons. Loot consists of hats that give various bonuses and upgrades for the weapons you buy at the "Blackschmidt".

Puzzles are usually very simple and are mostly just filler. But if you want to 100% everything, it can take a while. There is also very simplistic leveling. You can get 9 levels and spend 1 point every level up. Damage, Attack/Movement Speed, Luck (more currency gain) and Damage Resistance. I just dumped all points into Damage Resistance, as the enemies hit quite hard on Nightmare difficulty

SargonAelther: Better that than games without manual saving and rare autosaves.
avatar
NuffCatnip: Weird comparison, of course manual saving is better than only having auto saves, but I had a around two dozen autosaves yesterday after 2 hours of gameplay that I had to remove manually.
That is not remotely within reason. Every area the game loads, it creates an auto save, as far as I can tell.
I'm not seeing the problem. 24 autosaves in 2 hours is an autosave an average of every 5 minutes. That sounds reasonable to me. What would be a normal autosave interval for you? Every 20 minutes?

I'd be fine with the option of limiting the amount of auto saves, so the save screen doesn't get overly cluttered. :)
3 or 6 auto saves that get overwritten at a regular interval would be completely fine I think.

The 24 saves were a rough estimation, it was a (couple) dozen more, I died at one point due to janky hurtboxes at least 12-18 times withing 5 minutes. I'm not against autosaves, but there should be a limit to them or an option to disable that feature.

Does the game support manual saves as well, or only autosaves? I sort of understand the problem if it supports manual saves, because in that case it makes sense for the autosave to overwrite the same slot(s). But if it's autosave-only I would much rather it keeps all of them. I hate it when games autosave and you realise it's impossible to go back!

Yes, you're given the option to create manual saves.

Then I see where you're coming from.
