It's hard to believe that Two Worlds II is getting more attention, but here is the copy/pasted press release from the website.:

"Press Release: + + + Two Worlds III enters development + + + Two Worlds II gets major engine update and new DLC + + +
TopWare Interactive and Reality Pump studios have some exciting news! We are pleased to announce that after earning multiple awards and selling over ten million units, Reality Pump Studios has officially begun work on the third part of our blockbuster RPG series, Two Worlds!

Two Worlds III is currently in the concept stage and scheduled for development over the next 36 months. Keep an eye out for further announcements.

And that’s not all! We’re also excited to announce a major engine update for Two Worlds II, and we’re going to need it, because while we’re laying down the basics for the third installment in the series, this year we’re also going to be releasing eight new Two Worlds II multiplayer maps and two brand-new, single-player Two Worlds II DLCs, Call of the Tenebrae and Shattered Embrace!

The first DLC, entitled Two Worlds II: Call of the Tenebrae will be available at the end of Q2 2016 and focuses on the Hero’s return to Antaloor, where he witnesses the shocking murder of DarPha! The killers are a never-before-seen tribe of hideous, rat-like creatures known only as “The Chosen”, who control a mysterious, powerful new magic! Their genocidal plot threatens every living creature in Antaloor, and it’s up to the Hero to find a way to stop them!

Expect to experience Antaloor like never before with the new engine update for Two Worlds II!

Also available for Linux and the Steam OS, the newly updated engine allows for a much higher level of character and landscape detail, an HD-GUI, in addition to tons of in-game achievements, co-op multiplayer, and lots of new in-game features and upgrades!"
Good for them. I'm glad these games did well enough for them to let them 1) continue the series 2) create DLC / support a game most devs would have kicked to the curb and ESPECIALLY 3) update said curb-kicked game with a new engine.

Well played Reality Pump!
Haven't played any of the games, but once I've saw the Monty Python "Black Knight" joke shoehorned in it was enough for me to go "ehhh I don't know".

But hey, maybe third time it's the charm?
What the hell is going on with Reality Pump/Topware? First, Raven's Cry is released in a buggy state which results in the bankruptcy of Reality Pump... or so we're led to believe and Reality Pump is actively working on rereleasing it. Then, once it's rereleased, it's apparently still buggy and after a while, the game is removed from Steam on suspicions of Topware tampering with the game's reviews and soon after, there are reports that Topware has filed for bankruptcy. And now you are telling me that despite having filed for bankruptcy, they are just developing games like nothing happened?

Pre-post edit: Oh wait, Raven's Cry is back on Steam. O_o
It's interesting to see. I can't think of another game that has gotten that kind of retroactive attention this long after its initial run. I wonder how effective this will be.

I was one of the oddballs that really got a lot of use out of the first game. I probably put in something like 100 hours into it with at least 2 full play throughs and two or three half play throughs.

The second game they are talking about here I've only spent an hour or two in so far. It's a very different game, but I do want to give it a go sometime. I am wondering about how this new stuff works with our version, as in the do we get it yes or no.

Damn… this means that those long abandoned mods I use will need to be updated… :( Its good news from an official standpoint, but I'll probably maintain 2 installs if that's the case.

I can. Postal 2 received new updates and an expansion pack more than 10 years after its original release.
I lost interest in the games after Two Worlds 2 since I really didn't like it (only played the main game).
I hope they'll make a better game with Two Worlds 3 but I'll wait for more details before getting excited.

I agree, the whole situation makes no sense! I can only suppose the fresh input of investor funds?

Hopefully the renewed interest will urge the modders to come back. Usually they're the most passionate and probably knew about this announcement before we did :)

One can hope cause the world merge and other mods have become down right necessary now. :D Play as a woman, play as a monster if you want, play however you like, and multi-player maps are no longer exclusively multiplayer. I need to dig out my old Two Worlds forum login and see what's up over there.
New DLC? I can barely even remember the story of Two Worlds 2 (your sister is kidnapped and then there's a dragon for some reason?), so unless they're totally stand-alone, I don't think this is happening for me.

Since I beat the first two, I might give III a try out, although after the Raven's Cry debacle, I'll have to wait and see.
But Dar Pha was the best character in two worlds 2! and now they are going to kill her off.

Two Worlds had a terrible main plot but there was some fun grinding and monster fighting along with locations same with Two worlds 2. What these games mainly suffer from is bugs, game play pacing and bad plot writing. I hope that the makers of these games can finally address these issues, but I am very skeptical about it.
That is quite shocking. Maybe I should give it another try then.
Never really got into it.
In Two worlds 2 I didn't like the running animation and In the first one I thought that enemy sounds sounded like duke nukem enemies, which isn't exactly a bad thing but still. =P
surprising, to say the least ;)
You probably missed the whole Raven's Cry/Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry scandal....
