After having spent some time warming himself up with his flaming cudgel, and having noticed the effectiveness of Durik's actions in the east corridor, Gilius congratulated his half-orc mate : "Bloody well done, Durik ! That way seems clear now."

The pirate-druid goes south to join with the others while keeping an eye back to make sure that no other vampirate is following. Once near the beach, he quickly assesses the situation. Having no real distance weapon, and since the situation seems to be under control, he joins Baldbeard and Argy on the way to the west and prepares for a fight with the incoming vampirates.

Gilius prepares a holy water in case the vampirates are overwhelming the crew and a big fight erupts.

[Edited out - Bellandra is not in sight range of the corridor vampirates yet so sextant will be reserved for later.]

Congratulations to Devin of Moonsea, our humble bard - voted Most Valued Pirate (MVP) by the Crew!
Your goddess and your lady must be very proud! :D

My thanks to the Crew for voting. I know a lot of you said it was a tough vote, all due to the fantastic Crew we be sailing with. Once again your GM is very glad the admiral didn't have a vote. ;) Compliments of the admiral also go to Aylar and Count Karnstein.

Devin, ye may choose any game ye like during the coming Winter Sale up to $25 US dollars (tax doesn't count) and be letting me know yer choice. Congratulations again, and thanks for being a part o'the Crew!

BenKii: It's from the game Slay The Princess which I featured on my video for that game. Link below for my video at the 8:44 marker is where the phrase shows up.

Okay. That explains it well ... and overall it worked out pretty much like that, so just as it should then. :P
Huh...there was never a more inevitable end for someone. All the questions about Nerissa, the treasure, his crew, whether or not one of them had sold him out to her, bounce around in his head. There will be time for them later.

Breathing out, Captain Baldbeard puts them aside for now, and whistles to his sharks to now return from the ship and focus on the western passage in the direction he originally was moving. He will then follow them carefully, once again, keeping watch for any vampirates and any actions from his teammates.

gogtrial34987: Before he can realize what his ribbon returning to him means for the fate of his most loyal and trusting companion, Grog'tial has spotted the mass of vampirates pouring into the tunnel, and desperately calls out to anyone looking like they intend to rush in, "Wait for the cupcake!"
(That is a lot of vampirates coming from the west. An explosive sweet might be the best option for that horde as long as it doesn't cave in the tunnel. Alternatively, I could still use my holy water/fire potion mix to do some holy flame breath down the tunnel to burn them all to ash. Let me know what y'all think.)

Devin gets to his feet and helps Argy up. "Be ye injured, Argy?" he asks, looking her over quickly. "Me apologies, there be not time to warn ye."

He swiftly looks towards the ship to see Captain Baldbeard's sharks feasting on the vampirate shooter and Aylar standing in the crow's nest with no Vampirate Captain in sight. Devin nods to Captain Aylar, then spins back rapidly when the cat comes running. If he be feeling the life drain and with his moonstone and feather likely warning him, Devin will already be bringing up the Moonbow to shoot whichever vampirate he has clear line of shot to that he judges to be the most dangerous to Crew, prioritizing shooters. Meanwhile he sends the cat to watch their backs.

"Grog'tial, I be not as familiar with tunnels as ye," he says, attempting to leave space for Grog'tial to shoot, but ready to switch to rapier and dagger to defend if needed. "Will the cupcakes collapse the tunnel? Be we too close if that be the case?"

"Magic frens, help!" Devin hears Durik call.

Depending on the current situation with the vampirates and the need to attack or defend, Devin will glance over his shoulder Durik's direction. If he sees the likely cursed gold fingernails and toenails move, he will shout back, "Holy water, Durik! Pour it over them and we hope it be freezing them to the ground until we be done with this fight and can tend to them."

If Captain BenKii mentions his fire breath potion and holy water idea [OOC: I can't find where BenKii has actually said this aloud], Devin would cautiously agree if Grog'tial doesn't think it could melt weaken or collapse the tunnel they ultimately want to get through. If it be deemed safe in the tunnels and the vampirates facing them be dealt with by cupcakes, sharks, cat o' nine tails, trident and bolts, then he would mention it could also be the thing to melt the cursed gold fingernails following Durik and destroy them, as nothing else they currently have with them likely will.

Priorities be: Fighting the vampirates or whatever be the most threat to Crew first, using Moonbow for ranged, rapier and dagger if close, shadow step if optimal but always keeping aware of possible exploding weaponry and to leave clear line of fire for Grog'tial and Bellandra as he can. Defend Crew as he can, prioritizing those in most need or danger. Then to assess and deal with possible cursed items once the fighting be over and Crew seems safe enough.

[Devin checks if Argy be hurt and looks to make sure there is no more threat from the ship. He will fight the vampirates, defend Crew and advises Durik on dealing with the probable cursed items. Priorities listed.]

Argy greets Devin with a faint smile: "Thanks, matey, ye saved me life..." While rising on her feet, she realizes he is wearing a badge with the letters MVP. Mighty had an identical one, what could it mean?

The vampirates ahead are almost asking for an explosion... If she can act before anyone else steps ahead and there is no big risk of a cave-in in doing so, she will throw a cupcake at them.

Else, she'll take a few steps back, leaving room to magic users and shooters to attack the vampirates before they reach her position. She'll stand ready to greet them with the pan, already blazing with fire oil. She'll also try to move out of sight of the ship's vampirates.

"The tunnel's not reinforced or shored up, but it looks to be mostly stable. There will probably be ice and some loose rock to dig through but the entire thing -shouldn't- collapse."
Blast, I was one turn ahead of the game. Guess I'll just repeat myself.

Seeing incoming vampirates, Count will douse cat o' nine tails in holy water and use it in off-hand as a makeshift aspergillum. He would use it to whip those coming close and sprinkle those further away (especially on the walls/ceilings) while/before attacking them with a saber. All the time he remembers about the ash and that it should be avoided.

Seeing Argy or Grog'tial ready to send explosives, Count will allow them do that first by not rushing forth.

If vampirates are destroyed before his turn, Count will save the holy water for later.

If no more danger in the immediate vicinity, Count will carefully proceed towards the plaza and then the vaults (but not going inside yet).
Captain's Log Mission 6 - Turn 5:
Dang it! I was told by my first officer that "The Look" was a "for sure thing". I'm thinking a reassignment to janitor role is in order when I get back to my ship. Anyway, it all wasn't for nothing. Captain Aylar used the opportunity to kill the vampirate captain so now we can continue on our way to find Baldbeard's treasure.

With the vampirate captain dead and no other threats in the vicinity, Captain BenKii moves to the Western tunnel hugging the left side of the wall where Baldbeard be standing. While walking over there, he applies his fire oil to his musket if it is a possible application of the product [pending on answer from GM]. There, he sees the oncoming vampirates. BenKii will use his holy water and fire potion combo if it looks like 3 or more vampirates can be flamed by it and no other ally is in the way of the attack. He will wait however to see how effective Argy's cupcake is on the group. Otherwise, he will aim for the head of the closest vampirate with a ranged weapon or if no ranged weapon is seen then just the closest vampirate. He reserves his rapier to keep back any approaching enemies and to parry and counter with musket if possible.

BenKii: he applies his fire oil to his musket if it is a possible application of the product [pending on answer from GM].
No, it won't work. Weapon oils need to be applied to the item that hits the enemy to work, so on blades, cudgels, tridents, arrows (not the bow), bolts (not the crossbow), harpoons (not the harpoon gun) and shot/musket balls (not the musket itself). In this case, your musket is special and does not take shot nor need reloads. Even with a regular musket, certain weapon oils should never be used ... fire oil would simply ignite with the powder and blow up the musket, frost oil would likely prevent the spark to the powder and freeze up the mechanism.
