The look which is now spreading over Grog'tial's face isn't one which his face has any experience expressing - but one thing is certain; if that isn't enough to get Woodkett to turn and run, nothing will.

Your armor already has enhanced protections (both physical and magical) worked in when Clíodhna did it. All the armors have it. :)
I'll have to have Aeshma answer Kyp later when I have more time to write, but Aeshma works spells as charms or potions based on what spells she has available to her (or Clíodhna) and based on what you want. In the case of what you've asked about, she could probably do a charm for slightly better swimming speed based on her air attunement, but in using the air it would be as short "sprint" bursts probably with bubbling behind you (which could also discourage and blind following creatures but also noisier underwater) with 2 charges per day.

NOTE: Remember you all get to choose and post 2 numbers from 1-100 for 2 of your 3 darts during this turn, unless you want me to dice roll all 3 darts for you. No doubling up or choosing the same numbers.

Ah, I thought the choosing would come after knowing the number of the first dart.

Still ... flustered, Grog'tial aims for the 50 of the bull's eye, but throws quite wide, 68, before taking a steadying breath and coming closer on the final throw, 56.

Ook, let my good ol' dice do the talking... 38 and 53
There goes achievement for unlocking Aeshma's alternate costume.

Flabbergasted Count Karnstein stands for a few seconds where Clíodhna left him, mumbling something unintelligible in a mocking tone, before hastily returning to his cabin. Ask Aeshma what she wants? Does Clíodhna even know how the gifts work? She doesn't wear black? Rubbish, what nonsensical reason is that. Tainted materials? Surely it can be washed. Now suddenly Rummyfang's privacy violations bother her? And since when she acts all high and mighty on account of a mere projection indicating that she could be same as a "common seamstress"? This was the first time Count saw this sort of display of power coming from Clíodhna, and it made a strong impression on him, but it wasn't the only revelation regarding her he witnessed that night. Admittedly, he may have gone overboard with his elaborate scheme to conceal the intentions, but it hardly explains Clíodhna's theatrical overreaction. Something was clearly amiss. Could she be so petty to do this to him out of envy? Count would never expect it from her, but apparently he didn't know her well. Seeing Devin spending undoubtedly productive night in the Great Cabin showed him a brand new side of the admiral. Count can easily imagine them plotting against him, and then cracking up while Clíodhna reports their recent conversation in detail to the scoundrel bard during the next tryst. And who knows if Aeshma herself wasn't privy to this "sophisticated" joke as well.

Count throws the bundle of clothes into a corner. Maybe someday he'll find someone who would appreciate it properly. Or maybe he should give up on this courting game entirely and leave it to fools getting all cheery over a pile of snow. Maybe he should better check what is the beholders' stance on love and relationships. Here we go: Chapter 9 - Life Cycle & Reproduction.

-----

During the contest, Count focuses on Woodkett for a brief moment, aims, and throws all three darts in a quick succession, one after another.

Numbers: 16 and 72

gogtrial34987: Ah, I thought the choosing would come after knowing the number of the first dart.
You're right, that would be better.
I'll edit these into the turn post. Crew may edit their chosen numbers up until deadline. Good Luck!

Argy = 23
Aylar = 74
Bellandra =96
Captain BenKii = 42
Count Karnstein = 50
Durik = 18
Gilius = 66
Grog'tial = 80
Kyp = 37
'So...' BenKii thought, 'she cheated. That is so pirate-like. And here I was going to purposely lose the competition to go to the dance anyway.' He could tell Aeshma wasn't even using her full power at the dart board given what he saw she could do with those snowballs yesterday. Still, he was quite impressed with her finesse and thanked her for good dart match. "I look forward to our dance later tonight." BenKii said with a smile. Once again, another faint giggle could be heard at the merest hint of a breeze ruffling her hair. BenKii looked around again but was starting to think that it may not be people. Some kind of magic? Or perhaps an invisible being? Captain BenKii had encountered mischievous invisible beings in the past and thought something like that could be at play here. BenKii would ask Admiral Clíodhna about it before the festivities tonight. Perhaps she would know more. He wanted to at least rule out a potential cloaked spy aboard.

Later that night, BenKii attended the dart contest.He was told to find a way to get Beckett to jump out his chair and could only use the darts but didn't say anything about dipping the darts in something. He thought about dipping in some holy water but probably wouldn't work since he's not technically a demon even though he was evil. Fire oil perhaps? Nah, too easy. Then it hit him.Capsaicin! The active component of hot chili peppers. Even a minuscule amount could cause a severe burning sensation. BenKii went to the kitchen and looked for the hottest pepper available then took his 3 darts and poked them. If he had a hard time finding something then he'd ask Argy for help finding something spicy. Now to figure where to aim? Mouth is too easy. No, BenKii would aim a bit lower. Right in the dick. Shot number 2, he would shift aiming 24 millimeters to the left and shot 3 would aim 31 millimeters to the right to tag both balls. However if the object was to hit him on the butt then BenKii would follow the rules and go for that instead.

At the party, BenKii went over in his mind the different dances he'd learned from the book. There was Tap Dancing. He'd seen Commander Data perform that dance aboard the Enterprise that one time. Don't think that one was suitable for this instance. The Tango. Classic dance technique but perhaps too advanced. Pole dancing. Wait! What the hell was that doing in this book? No! BenKii decided to let the music decide how he should dance. Like what Aeshma said, "It just needs you to feel the music and let it flow through and move you." And that is what BenKii was going to do. He was gonna go totally Footloose on that dance floor. He approached Aeshma at the party and offered his hand, "May I have this next dance?" he asked. Now it was time to get boogie with it.

BenKii would listen to any advice Aeshma had about dancing and any techniques she could bestow. He hoped the book, the music, and Aeshma's teaching would be enough to be a competent enough dancer.

ANNOUNCEMENT: TURN EXTENSION
*Turn Ends 11:59PM UTC, 10 January 2025.*

Currently 3 members of Crew and myself have RL circumstances that are requiring attention, so I am extending this 'party' turn to 10, January 2025 to see what can be worked out.

Hmmm maybe I would want to try to enchant something else then...

Any crew members have any good ideas of what I should have enchanted and with what affect?

Were Kyp to wait a bit and talk to Devin [when he's back and can post], he might find something interesting is coming up ... ;)

GM Note: Devin's character has been through the Lighthouse in a previous campaign run by B, so Devin knows how the Lighthouse is supposed to work and what should lie just beyond it in the Weirding Sea. Part of the delay in starting the Lighthouse mission is so Devin can be available to help brief Crew with his own insights.

Gilius agrees to bless Grog'tial's wooden bolts.
"That service will cost you 2 pieces of 8."

Then after contemplating his face for 3 seconds,

"... Just kidding !" he adds with a big grin.

Then for the dart contest.
Gilius will pick the 15 and the 88.
If Gilius can, he will set Woodkett in front of a canon to make him believe he's about to be fired (or the canon in front of Woodkett).
Otherwise, he will summon Rocky to threaten Woodket with his fists to try to scare him before firing the darts.

LOL. Hm, no one informed the GM of this achievement.

All this time I thought Grog'tial was supposed to be the paranoid one. Or in your pursuit of fashion achievements, be Count now aiming for a pink tutu as well? :P
-----

To answer a PM'd question: While fire oils, explosives and such may be threatened, they will not be allowed in actual use for the Dart Contest. We want to scare Woodkett, not burn or blow up the Crew's dining and recreation room or the Ship.

"There be a port just beyond the Lighthouse once we cross into the Weirding Sea. It has many shops with strange and magical wares," Devin answers Kyp. "And fashions," he says, with a only the barest hint of a smirk at Count. It had not been hard for Devin to hear the Count reeling off his overly dramatic spiel to his lady right outside his cabin.

He looks at Kyp's fishing net belt. "Do ye use yer net for more than fishing? The admiral be good with all manner of weaves and threads and yer net be like a weave. Mayhaps M'Lady or Aeshma could enchant it somehow, perhaps to Charm or Sleep a creature within it? I've also heard mention that Aeshma may have a spell to turn someone into a frog," he comments nonchalantly.

[OOC: I don't know Aeshma's spells, but turning someone into a frog has also been mentioned previously in thread.]

Aylar allows himself some additional enjoyment by faking out Woodkett by making him second guess the direction or timing of the throw. Let it be his own paranoia and misjudgement that brings mockery to his original, if he panics enough to turn tail and run, or dodge haplessly right into the line of fire.

The other two darts go to 39 and 62.

It's a secret achievement. I've read a guide.
