Disappointed about all the hatred towards one of the classic FMV games, mostly by people who didn't even play it. But even if you did and don't like it; so what?
Seriously, is it so difficult to just not write in a thread about a game you're not interested in instead of rallying against it?
Even if it got released here, you could always, I don't know, not buy it.

Welcome cagas123.

In my opinion Black Dahlia would be an excellent addition to this site, as it's probably the most ambitious FMV adventure that was ever made.

It's over 5 years since I played it, but from what I remember:

Pros:
- Great story and atmosphere (it's a very long game but these made me want to finish it)
- Lots of puzzles and some of them are great
- Didn't encounter any bugs in my playthrough on a Windows 98 PC. Maybe the problems had been patched out by then or maybe I was just lucky.

Cons:
- Some horrible puzzles - some are just very hard and a few of them were impossibly hard. Yes, I had to use a walkthrough a few times but it certainly didn't spoil my enjoyment.
- Terri Garr's acting - it's so bad, it's good! (edit - to be fair she only has a small part and the rest of the acting is generally very good)

Fairfox: Nooot sure I'd count some of teh games in that list as FMV games. Blade Runner for starties, and even Phantasmagoria is pushing it in teh genre-sense Imma thinking.
phantasmagoria came on 5 discs and was mostly footage of actors acting out a b horror movie
if thats not the definition of an fmv game i'd like to know what is

Hey there. We definitely need Black Dahlia on GOG, even because the game was always a pain to get to run properly ever since the days of Windows XP, so a little bit of tech magic from GOG, or someone GOG could reach out to, would be great.

It's a somewhat unique game in the way that it mixes a bunch of history - Elizabeth Short's murder, the III Reich's obsession with the occult, the Thule Society, the CIA embryo days in the form of OSS during the war - with the game's fictional plot. It has quite a few interesting moments and a fair share of nice puzzles, some of them a tad on the difficult side of puzzling though. One of them took me days to figure out and for another one i actually put together a paper model of the puzzle - for those who've played it it was the one with the bar napkin :)

Vote for it on the wishlist if you haven't already

I was going to say to try and run it in dosbox as a similar game called Ripper seems to work fine with a patch.

This person claims to have it working.
To download the game, follow the link below. This exclusive installer uses PCem running Windows '95. Press Ctrl-Alt-PgDown to toggle fullscreen. Press Ctrl-End or middle mouse button to release the mouse. Tested on Windows 10.
20.05.2018 - Version 2 - Now uses PCEm to emulate Windows '95.
Added autorun and custom background within Windows '95.
Fixed an installer compile error which prevents multi CDs being recognised.
Patched game to official version 1.10. This adds the following:
A workaround for the gem/rune puzzle bug (type 'reset' within the puzzle's screen to reset it).
Subtitle support. Within Windows '95 edit C:\BDAHLIA\BD.ini and set Subtitles to 1.

IMPORTANT - Remember to shut down the emulated version of Windows before exiting PCem. This could potentially result in errors, lost saves and corrupt data. Close the program only when it is safe to do so.
