xa_chan: Funny, on the contrary it's exactly what makes them particularly fun to me. Maybe because when I was a kid, I played everywhere with my LEGOs, so i'm accustomed seeing them in weird places! ^_^
I don't see them as weird though but as dull. I guess it would be different if it would look like the LEGO figures were roaming around in a realistic garden or a child's bedroom or something, but to me the backdrops just look like your average, run-of-the mill action video game with unimpressive 3D graphics. To be fair though, that's only judging from the screenshots and gameplay footage, I haven't actually played any of the LEGO games myself (except for one that I played an hour at max on the PS2 before I ran into a game-breaking bug).
jonwil: The LEGO Movie is definitely an exception to that. Essentially EVERYTHING in that game is built out of LEGO (just like the movie). And its a fun game too, especially with all the extra things you can go and find and all the different characters you get to use.
This one looks much better better in the screenshots, maybe I'll give it a try one day, when it gets a good discount. Thanks for pointing it out!
