I'd like to recommend you The binding of Isaac. The game is awesome (if it will not lag... it's based on flash)
And, it's completely controlled by keyboard, and don't need mouse at all.

Wurzelkraft: and, for us Germans, Bleifuss FUN. ;)
Is that one still sold anywhere?

I love it, too, but it even lags on my desktop PC occasionally, depending on the number of opponents. In a way, it might be easier to play on a netbook due to the slower speed, but when it turns into a crawl, it's no fun anymore. :/

"Master of Magic" and "Unepic" ?
Well, taking a look at my GOG account, I found the following games to recommend (Some of them are Strategy games, so feel free to disregard them if you find the touchpad inadequate for Strategy games. Then again, you did play and complete Baldur's Gate 2, which is quite dependent on the mouse):

- Dark Reign
- Duke Nukem I+II
- Earthworm Jim 1+2
- KKND Xtreme
- KKND 2: Krossfire
- Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
- Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
- Rayman Forever
- Realms of Chaos
- Suprefrog
- Theme Hospital
- Tzar: The Burden of the Crown
- UnEpic

Outside of GOG.com, I would recommend Majesty Gold (Or not if you have problems with Strategy games)

I don't think so. You might be able to grab a used copy from amazon though. It also doesn't need the CD after installation except for music.

Unepic is lagging, I haven't tried MoM yet since I don't own it.

Unepic ran slow for me on my netbook. Slow as in moving-through-molasses slow. It was playable but still....

Well, I didn't complete it on the netbook. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions! The first Oddworld games and Theme Hospital run indeed flawlessly. I'll check out the 90's platformers.

I see. Since Leroux mentioned that he ran Escape Goat perfectly, I took a look at its requirements and noticed that they were pretty similar to UnEpic's. Goes to show that requirements aren't always absolute.
It would seem one of our intrepid piorneers has shown that LotR2 might work:

By the way, Duke Nukem Manhattan Project might or might not run on your netbook. Its requirements seem low, but one can never be sure.
Guaranteed to work and possibly the best thing you can get for free

Settlers 2 is another good one for older netbooks, and Anno 1503 as well but Settlers is more relaxing and easier to get into.
If you're German, there's a 90% chance you've played all of those games already but for everyone else, these are definitely worth checking out. Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe is 100% free so nothing to lose except unholy amounts of time.

Netbook, not tablet, but it may work nevertheless, thanks! :)

Judging by the majority of suggestions, I guess I'd be much more likely to find good netbook games if I was really into Strategy and Sim games (and already owned more of them). I'm open to trying them, but I usually suck at them and get bored very quickly. I'll download OTTD and see how I get along with it. :)

I've found another game that works great - GTA2, as offered by Rockstar Games (free, without DRM and set up to run on modern versions of Windows). Sadly my car exploded before I could finish my first mission. I guess I'll need to work on my driving skills. :D
Star Control 2 or the sourceport.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri perhaps, can be played with keyboard only though I think a mouse is preferred.
Crusader: No Remorse/Regret, though you need to change all the keybindings (Ctrl-F1).
Syndicate.
