There is a sale going on at Gamersgate at the moment. It seems to have a lot of depth, but I feel I need more information. I stumbled upon a player review at Gamespot and it got me thinking. I usually don't pay much heed to other's opinions, but this person seemed quite reasonable in their criticisms. The thing that I'm unsure of is if they are the sort that are made if a person is still unfamiliar with the gameplay.

If anyone cares, this is the review.

It's one of the best Wargames I've ever played, but keep in mind it's very complex, with a very steep learning curve. I say go for it, you won't regret it.
Eh, thanks, but that's not really what I'm after. The people in that thread seem to be discussing a session that they have going and I don't want to butt in or anything.

Any thoughts on the review though? I can get whole-hearted recommendations from anywhere, but I figured since the boards at Gamefaqs are dead and the people at the official forums might be a little too bias, that someone here might be able to shed some light on these so-called "short-comings" in the game.

Ok, read the review. I agree with the issues about the lack of control of the units, that IS annoying, probably the worst part of the game. And I agree the SCs are overpowered. But I don't think those issues that big of a deal, and they're not game-breaking. Also, keep in mind most other Strategy games have the ability to automate battles, which I use myself very often, so it's obviously not a problem.

All in all, the review is mostly accurate, but the game's cons are exaggerated .

Hmm. Okay then. Well thanks for the insight. Consider this business sorted out.
