Can't figure it out. I thought player name was the name you chose, and ip address was the ip of the host. Trying to play local with the same copy.

What's the ip you're using? If it doesn't begin with 192.168, it's probably wrong. You need the internal ip to play locally. You also need to make sure both computers are powered, connected to your router, and running the game. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you knew all that, but you're going to need to give more information if you want to hear more than just common sense.
Jamie Stanwick and I used to play bridge on Thursday evenings. We'd drink tea and talk about her son's schooling or my husband's health. Sometimes, we'd even talk about the neighbors' strange nighttime behaviors, or how the government was being too soft on the criminals. Oh, those were wonderful times.
