Brilliant!
played about 15 hours already

Well hopefully you'll be able to get past the amulet/rabbit quest part. I had a game breaking bug.

*can't even remember that part*

If you play a mage-type character, save yourself a lot of headache and take the first necromancy (black) spell. There is one point in the game (near the half-way point of the main story) where you will go up against some enemies that are incredibly frustrating/overpowered compared to where in the game they are, and that spell will be of great use there.

The bit where theres a rabbit in the cave, but they say it's a beast. You have to trap it in a cave. To progress to another area you either have to buy pelt from a shopkeeper (i accidentaly killed the guy before this quest) or get an amulet (which never showed up, EVER!). So i had to watch the rest on youtube.

In fact, make sure to install fan patches before installing. It's a must!

Ah, then I know what you are talking about!
Save early, save often. Good times.

Are these supposed to be executables?

Yeah, it's an exe unpacker for some reason. It's safe, though, if you're worried.

I was worried, though I suspected that's what it was, a self extracting archive of some kind.

Yeah you should be good.

As most Arcanum players have installed the recommended unofficial patch, they won't encounter that bug.

Just in case, i have added an extra warning. I didn't install any extra patches as i was unaware of any at the time.

Just sucks for me. I did enjoy what i played anyway, and i got the gist of the story from what i saw on youtube.
Use fan-base patches to eliminate most quest/game breaking bugs.

And enjoy one of the best game ever released!

Always good to look at the wiki regarding unofficial patches ;)
