Just finished the demo, and it's much more than I ever thought it would be. Controlling Batman in combat is absolutely amazing. You only have two attack buttons (attack and counter), but it is extremely context-sensitive, and there are many awesome animations that are absolutely brutal. To give an example of the dynamic fighting, when you knock someone to the ground, a takedown command appears on screen. If you're close to the guy, you'll just lean down, lift his head and give him a good punch. If you're farther away, Batman will make a small leap into the air and land with his fist to the goon's face. It doesn't sound like much when I describe it, but trust me, the animations are beautiful and fluid.
The stealth is also extremely pleasing. You grapple from gargoyle to gargoyle, and can glide down to give a swift kick, hang them from the ceiling, use your Batarang in an efficient manner, and so on. It tells you what to do where, which may seem like it's Prince-of-Persia-style hand-holding, but it makes you feel like you're in command, clever, and gives you a sense of real acroBATics (please don't kill me) that even Sands of Time didn't give me the same level of pleasure to perform!
This game is an insta-buy. Unless, of course, it absolutely falls apart in later levels, but the game didn't give me the sense that it would.
Oh, and there are characters throughout the series that you'd never expect to be in the game, like Oracle (Formerly Batgirl) and Zsasz.
