It would work. Also, D3 already has Global Play, so you can use the same copy to play on different servers / regions. SC2 will feature that with the expansion.

My brother got it for $10 at Best Buy as a price match just a little while ago.

I gotta say that being able to find the game for 10 bucks is great. Although the local Toys R us for me was sold out, I still cashed in on the opportunity. Saving 5/6ths the price is worth it when the game NEVER goes on sale. I don't know about liquidating their PC game stock but whatever they have listed for $10 and are out of, you can probably get a price match at another retailer
