I'm currently evaluating the demo and I'm quite enjoying it, although I really suck at the combat. I'm a bit worried about the save point system though. So far it seems I only get the chance to save the game at specific occasions (e.g. after a day is over and Arche goes to bed). Not sure if that's a convention in the genre, but from my point of view it's very inconvenient game design and not at all user-friendly. What if something comes up that makes me want to quit the game and only continue later on? Would I have to do the whole day's work again (including all the exploration and item collecting)? Or is there another way to save the game?

Head on over to an inn, you can save there and pay for a bit of recovery if you want.

Little tips

1) Search cabinets and dressers in houses, they may yield items, including stat boosters.

2) There are capsule dispensers at some shops. It is similar to gambling, in that you may receive decent items from them, such as Merrin's Staff and the Legendary Sword.

3) When at a new item shop, be sure to buy one of every new consumable item and to put it into storage - you can then later give them to Arche's father to expand his shop menu, which may be handy if you don't feel like making an expedition to another town.

Thanks a lot! :)

Does anyone know how long the game will be 25% off on Steam and specifically GamersGate? Is there a set date that I overlooked on the store pages or is it a gamble (the longer you wait, the higher the probability that it falls back to list price)?

The Steam discount ends on tomorrow at 10AM PST. I have no idea about GamersGate; I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

Hm .. in that case maybe I'd better get it now. If the discount deal with Steam ends tomorrow, I'd be surprised if GamersGate was allowed to let it run much longer. And if I already have to ponder about buying it for 25% off, in the end I'd probably never buy it at full price. :D
I've played through the demo and bought the full game, but the passage from demo to full game is not as fluent as I had hoped for. After the prologue, it says "to be continued" and then something like "Now that you've bought the full game, please return to the menu and load your Prologue data in order to continue". And when I do that I get two options "Main Quest" or "Bonus Quest". If I select Bonus Quest I get to search for another cave Colm supposedly told the girls about, without me, the player, ever hearing him say that.

What's the meaning of that? Is it a quest you could have found when playing the full game from the start but that was removed from the demo? If you play the full game from the start, will you also get a message after the Prologue that your game was saved and you are required to load it in order to continue? Or will there be no "to be continued" but the fluent passage that I was hoping for instead? Has anyone played through the Prologue with the full game and can enlighten me? Thanks! :)

Carpe Fulgur's announcement said that Fortune Summoner's 25% off sale will be for a week after its release. GamersGate's release was about... half a day later than Steam's, so I expect the sale to end half a day after Steam.

I never played the demo and bought and played the full game from the beginning. I get the same message.

The extra dungeon is a bonus dungeon. It is not mentioned in the main story.

I don't think smooth transition is possible. From what I know, the demo has a different way of implementing Marks of Heroism, thus requiring a game engine reset.

Okay, thanks a lot! While I don't really like the way they implemented the transition and the bonus quest, I'm also relieved I don't necessarily have to play through the prologue again. ;)
Yeah, this is a awesome game from Carpefulgur. I have Recettear and Chantelise in Steam, but I want have in GoG (free DRM).

Maybe in a future GoG and Carpefulgur? I will love that

GamersGate sell all the Carpefulgur translated games DRM free if you can't wait. I imagine they'll come here eventually though.

Unlikely as GOG will also have to secure an agreement with the original Japanese devs. That may be possible with EGS for Recettear and Chantalise, but Lizsoft will refuse as they wish to continue selling the game in Japan with a price tag way higher than the one they allow CF to use and are refusing to allow the game on Steam in Japan due to the cheaper price tag.

GOG may have better luck with Nyu-Media and their games, if they cut Capcom out of the process. Nyu-Media have no problems with selling to customers in Japan, but Capcom does.

Ah, I'd completely forgotten about that. D=

Yeah, sadly Japan is full of developers and publishers who ultimately, don't care if they sell their games in their domestic market. That's the only explanation I can think of for their continued refusal to embrace fair pricing and digital distribution within Japan.

Then there's the PC gamer stigma you've mentioned before... the companies can't help even more people become hikikomori PC gamers and still have some honour left, can they?
