Just wanted to pop in and say that Tampermonkey for Chrome uses the hide giveaways script just fine :D.

cmdr_flashheart: I believe the simplest solution is to install the hide giveaway script, and for gift givers to include the word "giveaway" in their posts. People can still view GA threads with this script installed, they just have the option to not view them when they don't want to do that.

Is this so hard to do?
I support this as I think it's the best solution and doesn't take away anything from anyone as all the threads can still be viewed.

Kaldurenik: Well i guess you could add a new button for when someone create a thread. So we have poll, question, giveaway.
Then allow a filter in the account settings to hide giveaways or something :P
Still, while everyone's waiting, you could install the hide giveaways script that works on Chrome (tested it myself :P) as that would be much quicker :D.

Navagon: Is the reason you're not going to create a giveaway forum because you don't want to in any one way appear to be officially supporting them?
Not sure as I am not the one who decides what goes into the forum features :D.

Navagon: Could you find out? As the need for a second General forum of some kind has been there since before you got abducted by the GOG mothership.
One thing I can recommend is writing to us via the official feedback channels for an answer. It's better if everything goes through official channels and all...

Also, I didn't get abducted, I went willingly :P

But the old Judas would have sneaked in and left the message in the mark's own lipstick on their bathroom mirror*. Hence why I suspect anal probes.

*This is especially intimidating when the mark is male.
Too busy playing games to do so :P

The new MindGames expansion is kicking my butt even on Normal so I have to take small breaks :/

SLP2000: How about you gog staff use some of your time at work and make this forum better?

There are three types of threads, official, normal and question.

How about 4th, giveaway, and an option to hide those threads?

Easy solution and not too complicated to do.

What's the difference in feedback on a forum post to someone using a contact us form? If you've read it, you've received the feedback.
Good question :D

Using the feedback system gives the devs working on the forum software a central location to draw from when investigating what change, fix, or keep. I know my reply earlier may have sounded a bit brusque but I can't stress it enough that folks should use the official features in place as it keeps everything tidy.
