I never had any troubles with aa GG games, but from what I've heard, they are very solid in there customer support. I think you can trust them on their word.

Gamersgate hasn't let me down yet.. Much.
but..
I bought the Drakensang the dark eye in gg yesterday.. Which is the first game in that series right? And they also sold some expansion to river of time but I didn't see river of time in there. So isn't that weird because that some Philanthropy-thing (that expansion) needs that.
Anyway.. Dark eye was 2,5 euros so it wasn't bad and that expansion of course I didn't buy that.
So I was wondering that a bit.

Otherwise have been working for me. Even though that I bought Deus ex: HR in there and got just a steam key.. worked so no prob.
And Arkham city. I got it with 27 euros (it would have been 49,99 €) in steam. And still is. (used uk-site and owned the first batman in there)
I've bought plenty of games in there. But always bought them cheap.
Well Deus ex wasn't cheap. But it was a bit under an euro than steam price. =)
Also I like to have some games that doesn't need steam to be open. Games for windows in some of them is enough.
Also, I like blue coins.

Yeah they're cool in that way. I've been an ardent supporter of Gamersgate for a while because their support is really ace. Not always fast, but they're mostly willing to go the extra mile to make the customer happy.

Too bad they don't have the holiday show this year...

What a nice surpise. Some weeks ago I bought on sale the Gothic complete pack (sorry GOG) including Arcania (I know). Today I bought Bastion and checked my gaming list, and what a surprise, the new Arcania expansion Fall of Setarrif is now also on my list. That's kind of a surprise, because I know from the Paradox games and the Unreal box (there is one with and one without the latest Unreal) they don't do this normally, so thanks for this. The only point that makes me wonder that it's labeled as Securom game but there is no serial listed. Downloading it right know and will check what's all about.

Edit: Allright, no online activation needed. Now I only need a new system to run it properly...

But why the hell would they sell an expansion and not that original game? I mean in GG.. I don't get to use .com site.. Just euro thing and uk works. Well.. I'll try it anyway.

Well, it turned out to be a complete hassle, as they don't accept Visa, has to be done via paypal (which is illegal here) or moneybookers, which is what I ended up having to get. Then money bookers wouldn't accept a Cambodian Visa, so I had to go into their local office and prepay cash into the account.

Had it not been for that process, they'd probably have gotten over $100 worth of impulse buys off me there and then, but when you have to jump through hoops to give people your money, it gives you more time to consider the purchases rather than just buying them on the spot...

I'm trying to avoid Steam as much as possible but the game that I brought through Gamersgate was a Steam game (Metro2033). I already download the game after sooo many long hours (their download speed is 80-120 kb/s). now I can't install the game because it needs Steam and I have to re-download again the game from Steam. What? redownload a 7gb of game again? I'm frustrated. Gamersgate should really indicated the title's DRM if it is a Steam game or not, not just by indicating that the game required a 3rd party account, so a person like me (dumb noob) should really know.

Yes, Yes, Yes! We may not be too many, but fans of Crusader Kings will not be heard on it's release day, we will be too busy having virtual babies! ;-D (by the way, I usually conquer Finland when I play, I hope you can forgive me.) :*(
In my opinion, GamersGate is the second best Digital Game Store, behind GOG (Dotemu is close too). After all it let me get Knights of Honor DRM free! wooot! In fact, if there is something that requires Steam to play, I usually wait for a sale from Gamersgate to get it there if they have it, and I don't buy it retail....I personally don't like directly giving Steam more than I must, for my own reasons, which I have no inclination to discuss again right now...Of course these are just my opinions. In any case, I have never had trouble with them, and I think they are not bad overall, but every site has it's flaws now don't it? ;)

Well, it's now gotten to the point where I'm about to give up. I now have a useless moneybookers account with a couple of hundred dollars in it that I can't do anything with (I can take it all back out for a 1% fee), and still no way of actually paying for anything on gamer's gate. The only remaining way I can think of is to give the money to someone where paypal is legal, then get them to use it to buy me these silly "blue coins".

If it says "3rd party account" on GG, it means Steam. Everything else is properly labeled, like Games for Windows Live. It's their weird way of trying not to advertise Steam.
