KneeTheCap: No need for human players to lose their fitness.
Thanks! I just asked since we played a friendly once with our human players assigned.
On a side-note, would you happen to know the average Fitness loss on friendlies? Does it scale with the experience gain (assuming correctly set 'Avoid Getting Tired' orders at Yes)?

KneeTheCap: if no-one objects, I'm gonna use them as is
It would be kind of relieving to see it as 'default' setting (which is visible to everybody in the team) with the option to switch it back if somebody should object :p

Should we keep a mixture of Positioning, Technique and Game Vision for Team Training, or head for other skills?
Does playing in friendlies have any positive effect for the players involved such as boosting experience and reputation?

Also, as far as training goes, I'm okay with keeping our training centered around Positioning, Technique, and Game Vision. But I will probably deviate into tackling to bring some points into that skill, as well.

Friendlies grant you about 25% of the experience you'd get in a 'normal' game regardless of the 'Avoid Getting Tired' setting. I'm completely unsure on reputation (and especially Fitness) though. It *seems* (according to the unofficial Wiki) as if you already get 'full' experience from playing just a minute in a friendly game, so I'm really curious on the manager settings. IF a manager could decide to exchange players after a given time, I'd really like to play some friendlies as exchange player for a minute or ten (kind of like the 'Substitute Hero' or the 'Equalizer' talent), take the experience and lose some very little Fitness.

Edit:
For the sake of amusement, we've been mentioned twice in the national newspaper and four times in the regional ;)

I had a good read through all the rules yesterday and also came across the experience gain for playing in friendlies. Im sure the manager has good reason to play only bots - Its sure hard just waiting for the season to start...;o)

Well, certainly! The Fitness drain is a bugger, so that's the reason, but since there is this neat little... let's call it feature (or bug :p) granting you full experience for playing just a minute, I wonder how much Fitness we'd really be loosing on a friendly match with the correct Avoid Getting Tired setting.
Asking Knee won't hurt (at least I hope so :p)!

Btw. now would be a good chance to place your bets with the betting shop, as we're set as underdog for the next match!
Such faith ;)

Theres a betting shop????!

Actually, I was trying to be funny, given that there's a prediction for the next game. No, there are no betting shops (to my knowledge), but it would certainly seem like a funny and nice suggestion. You should totally suggest it on their forum!
There is something remotely close to betting though, a forum game, which is organised by users. First prize is 6 month FS Gold :p
What's new, teammates?
I haven't been around much lately as not too much is happening.
I interviewed Mr. Patton today, I hope I too will get featured in the news. :-)
Those articles, they are game generated or does indeed some players write them?

Hey! Thanks for the interview. I just read the latest edition of the regional paper and this story cracked me up:

Arguing on the internet: lives wasted

Two internet users died yesterday after spending the last 12 years at home arguing with each other on an online forum. The reports show that after they finally noticed they were alive, they suddenly died of regret.

XD

I would guess that somebody wrote them, because they are very limited in number (repetitive) and kind of just 'fill in' the empty unused spots in the newspapers.

Now our complete team is stranded at Average Confidence (yesterday I managed to get back to High, only to find myself at Average again today, what joy!) and we should try to feature each other in the newspaper as much as possible to boost that back up.
I've got three free Interviews, first come first served, so just raise your hand if you want one ;)

I am kind of tempted to use the 'article' as my new reply to some threads ;)
Maybe there's an exploit similar to the one for experience in friendlies that we can use to get our confidence up. Confidence goes up if you correctly predict performance rating in an upcoming game.

So, why not arrange a friendly in which the live players start and then substitute the bots in after about five minutes? That probably wouldn't give the match engine enough time to assess a performance rating of anything other than a 5. So, if you leave your prediction for performance at the default setting the odds should be in favor of being correct and thereby bosting confidence (and experience, as mentioned in an earlier post) at the cost of very little fitness.
avatar
HomerSimpson: (...)5(...)
According to the unofficial Wiki, that wouldn't work. Default outcome (=5), doesn't change the confidence, despite the prediction, you'd need at least a 6+.
Then again, I've never tested the theory (if a prediction of 1 would work positive if you score a 5) I'm going to on my next match though.

As for confidence, if everybody of us features three others on the newspaper with 20 points spent, we wouldn't only gain High Confidence, but plenty of fame as well. Should we set up a list of who would be willing to feature whom to get the best possible result?

While we're talking about exchanging in the game, do you know how that works? Is there a fixed number of possible exchanges and can you assign a specific time?
While you guys bicker over training regimes, I'm out in the world doing useful stuff.

That's right, Henrik Solberg is now on Twitter!

Henning Mangelsdorff would be more than willing to give another interview and help to boost Henrik Solbergs Confidence (and Reputation), if Henrik Solberg would consider doing the same and wish him good luck (with 20 Interaction Points) in a newspaper interview as well.
