How great would it be to get the ol' competitive spirit going on GoG, especially for these awesome old school games. I'm playing Alien Shooter, and I want to blow everyone else away with my vidya game awesomeness. I want to PWN!!!

Ok seriously, I do think this would be a great feature on GoG, reviving leader boards for the classics. Opinions?

Cool idea. Nearly impossible I'd think.

Pretty much, without source code they couldn't get the information out of the game. And without DRM they couldn't ensure that it was at all accurate.

Seems like the OP wants Steam, without DRM.

EDIT: I think Evolve and X-Fire both do something similar for supported games though.

I don't like competitive multiplayer, but I sure wouldn't mind co-op.

I wonder if it's possible to play Syndicate through IP addresses using GOG's dosbox version.
Here's a question for you: How many games are there on this site that use points? Answer: Probably a dozen. Quest for Glory I think makes up half that list, or maybe it's just a couple of them.

The point is, okay, leaderboards, interesting, but how many games are there that it could actually be used with? Unreal, maybe some of those flight sims, I've got about nothing else coming to mind. It probably isn't hard to get running, but why bother with a leaderboard of only a couple of games? Or could you simply use the ones existing already for certain games in their online interface?
